  1. Hey! I read that you're doing well! That's great! I was banded in December 2007 and have had several complications. I was 298 before being banded and now I am 253, give or take several lbs. My band slipped, and my Dr (who is extremely conservative with fills) had to remove ALL of the saline. :( Like I said, he is VERY conservative and he is slowly filling me back up but I am not restricted at all right now. I can eat almost whatever I want. It's discouraging. I haven't been on this website in forever. I guess I need to get back in the groove of things so I won't be so discouraged. Where are you from? Age? Etc?....

    Nice talking with you!

  2. Hey, I was just wondering if anyone used Dr. Bissell in Christiansburg, Virginia. He and his staff are wonderful! If so, message me. I would love to swap stories and find out from someone who had the same physician instructions as I.

    First Fill-NOT feeling it

Hey, it looks like you and I were banded on the same day...and guess what? You are definitely NOT the only one feeling this way. I have only lost 25 lbs and 100% of that was from post surgical diet. Since I've started eating "regular" foods, I can eat whatever I want, with no restriction. I have had one fill, so I have 3.5 cc's in a 10 cc band....still nothing...nothing at all. The only proof I have that I even had the surgery is when I eat bread I have a little bit of pain when it slips through the band. Otherwise, I would think that they had cut me open on the 11th, and then stitched me right back up without doing anything in there. So, everyone has told me not to worry, it will happen. Just wanted to let you know that you are not the only one feeling what you're feeling. It's normal!
  6. Hey, I am a Dental Hygienist and I ALWAYS recommend the supplement Lysine to my patients that have recurring outbreaks. It is the best thing next to the over-the-counter meds.

    Dr. Robinson in Statesville, NC

I actually looked at that hospital and found that everyone was great as well, but decided on Carilion New River Valley with Dr. Bissell in Christiansburg, VA. I'm glad everything is going well with you! Good luck my fellow lapbander!

    Stretch pouch???

How do you know if you've stretched your pouch. I had the band on December 11th and I'm eating about 50-75% of what I did before. I haven't had a fill yet. Does that have anything to do with this? Help! I'm worried! I haven't had any discomfort or anything. I feel like I never had surgery!:help:

I have a new favorite exercise

Okay, I must be totally out of the loop. What in the world is a Wii. All I know is that is what my 3 year old says when he needs to go to the restroom.

    Twenties Chat

Hey, I'm Janie, 26, Southwest Virginia (GO HOKIES!). Anyway, I was banded on December 11th, and am beginning to be very discouraged. I feel like I could eat a house. Not just a trailer, or a double wide, but a mansion. I'm famished. I lost 24 lbs, but am now gaining some of it back since I've been off my liquid diet. I haven't had a fill yet, and I am eating about.....50-75% of what I ate before my surgery! Please tell me this will change. I am worried that I am stretching my pouch! I am feeling NO discomfort, NO nausea, NO anything! I need some encouragement please!
  11. Hey! I'm looking forward to making new "band buddies"! I was recently banded on December 11th in Christiansburg, Virginia. My doctor, Charles Bissell, as well as his staff, are wonderful, to say the least! I have lots of questions and would love to chat with newly banded people as well! I look forward to exchanging questions and stories! God bless everyone!
