I think they will still do the surgery? do they require you to lose weight? No, as a matter of fact the insurance coordinator told me not to lose any or there was a chance I would fall below bmi and not get approved. She told me "with your insurance you can gain and they would still approve as long as I met all the other requirements" but I didn't want to gain any and through out the whole process I would lose and then gain back a pound or two but I don't know what happened after my last supervised appt. From the last appt. until I finally got approved, I gained 15 pounds!!! I guess I was stress eating but that's alot of weight to gain in a little over a month. I've managed to lose 2 pounds but I want to lose the other 13 pounds plus before my surgery. I don't know what they will say at Vandy. I want to call and ask but I don't even know who I would ask...

I didn't even know they do that. Since I have bothered them enough might as well bother them just a little more and ask. Either way, I am happy, ready to start the new year on the losing waggon. Lucky for you that they got you in right before the new year. I'm not sure that they do but I would think so. Sure wouldn't hurt to ask! Yes, I am glad they got me in when they did!

I have lost 10 lbs so far. I have 4 more days of it. My surgery is this Saturday. @@meganmom - what are you eating/drinking? I need some ideas. Kudo's to you too because I don't know how you're doing it! I have been drinking protein shakes throughout the day and only eating supper, I don't know if I can do the liquids all day but I'm willing to try.

Sorry to hear you got so much going against you! Try to keep your head up and know that what is meant to be will be. This whole process is like a roller coaster with lots of ups and downs and right now just feels like a down. Keep going 1 foot in front of the other and don't worry about the rest. Trust and have faith in God and watch him blow your mind. Take care

Question and please go easy on me! You can't make me feel any worse than I already do, trust me! Ok, so here's my question. Will the surgeon still do the surgery if you've gained weight since approval? I actually gained the weight while waiting on approval and have worked hard to get it off this week but the scale is not moving!! Pre op is on the 17th. I'm not on a required liquid diet although I almost wish I was made to! I tried only liquids all morning and made it to 4:00 and my stomach was SCREAMING for food! Kudo's to those of you who have to do it for two weeks!!

They actually had me scheduled for the 21st but I requested the 28th. #1, My son turns 15 on the 21st so I didn't want to be in the hospital on his birthday and #2, I've already requested the week of the 28th off from work!! Congrats and we'll wishes your way!!

I have all of these feelings! My husband is very supportive too but not to the point of doing the shakes with me but that's OK. Just try to hang in there the best you can. You can do this!

Oh wow.... another review just for a date change? Hopefully, they can fit you in for December. They told me Dr. Spann has a few more dates open for December I got my date for Dec. 28th!!! It is becoming so real now! Super excited and nervous but more happy!! I'm thinking positive and I am not going to let this second chance go to waste :')

@@Nikke25, I didn't get that date from Vandy, that's the date ins. provided. I'm not sure how they come to that date but I did call and ask "what if" I couldn't take off work during that time or the surgeon/ hospital can't accommodate those dates and she said they would have to do another review. So now just crossing my fingers that everything comes together!! Please keep me updated on yours!

Hello everyone!! I got my approval letter from ins. today!! My dates of approval are Dec. 14 & 15 so I'm hoping Dr. Spann & the hospital will be able to accommodate one of those dates?? I've put on a couple of pounds so I've got to get them off quick (not that it will effect anything per my ins. I just would like to get it back)
