  1. Sheila, If you tried Carolina Weightmangement dont use them. I had a bad experience. My bad failed last year so I have not been seeing any one. I would try Southeast bariatrics 704-316-7760. or Novant has bariatric physicians. Hope that helps.
  2. I just had an appt with my lap band doctor because I was having problems. He stated I needed to have all fluid removed to see if that fixed my problems, but he said doing adjustments in the future are probably not going to help. Basically my band has failed and starting adjustments again will just repeat my problems again. My insurance will pay for removal but will not pay for new surgery. I am already starting to gain no matter what I do. I lost 90lbs but slowly was gaining again. I am so sad about this. My insurance was not the insurance who paid for first surgery. It is so unfair to live by the politics of insurance company's. I did the original surgery for a better and healthy life. So now the insurance would rather pay for all the things that will come from not having my band. This as very made me sad.
  3. So I had my band surgery in 2008, a couple weeks ago I had a upper gi series because I was getting stuck often. Md took 1cc out. Since then I have had the pressure that's feels like reflux move up my esophagus, but there is no acid taste. I'm embarrassed cause I say I burp like a man. And now I have this pain in the central abdominal pain near my belly button. I went to my primary today and when she pressed on the area I thought I would jump off the table. Wondering if anyone has every experienced this.

    Sudden pain

I had my lab band surgery in 11/2011. I had normal symptoms due to my own devices. I had not seen a lap band specialist for 4 years due to moving and having other live events. But recently I felt I was getting stuck more often and sought the help of a specialist. He did an upper gi series which show my band in the right position so he just did an adjustment of taking 1cc out (which I thought was to much). Anyway the other night I took a medication with no problem, but during the night I woke up with the need to vomit. It was very strenuous. Since then I have this pain I have never had before. Nothing gets stuck but I have these spontaneous pains from the top of my abdomen up my esophagus. The pain is so bad, I'm one who can take a lot of pain but this is to the point I'm in tears. Does anyone have any idea what this could be and has anyone ever experienced this. Please help.
