  1. Hi everyone, i have been off line for a while, had a few things that have taken over my internet time lol a sleepless baby!!! lol anyway, all better now. I have had my appt. with doc Watson and I am having my banding down on the 20th nov. at murdoch:teeth_smile:, just wondering if anyone else out that having same date as me? i need a little help staying motivated :smile2: Well hope everyone is going well, and that there have not been too many hiccups for you all. talk with you all soon. xxx
  2. Hi Leashie, Thanks for the inspiration :w00t: I'm actually feeling a little more better than yesterday, although in saying that, I don't have much time to relax as I have a month old who is very active!!! I've also been lifting him which can't be of any help to me. Anayway going to try not to do any of that today as we are at my mum's place and she will help me with him. Thank heavens for mums' hey?! lol Well, I have noticed that some of my clothes are a little looser than what they were when I went into hospital. I have to admit that I am little bit confused as to what I can have in food wise. With Dr. Watson he gave us a book and told us to basically follow it, but to also listen to our own bodies as to what we need...........i have tried to eat a little bit of custard, which stayed down and was a bit more filling than the watery broth and jelly I have been having. Mum also made me some pumpkin and chicken soup, which was delicious!!! and was a little thicker and which could probably fit up a thick straw lol  I felt a lot better after that, before that I was feeling hungry all the time. Anyway, if you have any ideas as to how you might think that I am going, or if you think that I am going down the wrong track please let me know, as I am a little confused as to what you can and can't have. The clear fluids are just not filling me up and I am having hunger pains!!! Who was your Dr. that banded you leashie? and when did you have it done?:cursing: Anyway, have a great day. Cheers PC
  3. hi leashie Well i got it done!! and it bloody kills> howcome no one tells you how painfully it is after the op? i have had terrible stomach pain and the gas is just out of this world!!! god i need help
  4. Hi leashie, how are things going? I totally had a stuffed weekend...it just went from bad to worst. ended up having to going to my mother-in-law's birthday at a restaurant where the food choices are very limited!! Anyway ended up breaking the diet yet again.......God I cannot not wait till thursday. hopefully all will go well. Anyway, hope you are going well. xx PC
  5. Thanks, wow you have lost heaps of weight already in 2 weeks. I'm a bit naughty, I just can't seem to stick to the Optifast!! I start out good, but by dinner time I am starving, and like you I don't eat a lot either. Anyway, I am really excited and can't wait. I have been waiting a long time for this. We should keep in contact, to see how we are each going......?

    how much for Dr. Watson?

That's fine with me, you know that you can do pm on here too, I think? but I'm fine with you doing that if you don't feel comfortable mailing on the forum. although I have to let you know that, the people on here are really supportive and really helpful with any questions that you may have. Just something to think about.

    Dr. Watson pricing???

Hi everyone:smile:, I have an appointment with Dr. Watson at his murdoch office in October this year, which I am fine with. I am a little nervous and scared and soooo anxious that I can hardly wait to see him:scared2:. I am more worried though that I will not have enough money to back my little venture. Has anyone recently been banded by him? Is there a long wait from the time of your appointment to op date? and what sort of out of pocket expenses did you have to pay, including the anaethesists? Do you have to go with his recommended anaethests or can you choose your own? I have saved really hard over the last few months and have finally (hopefully) got enough money. Please if anyone has been banded by him could you let me know what to expect from him as a doctor as well as the financial side of things? Thanks and hope to hear from someone soon...:crying:

    Dr. Watson pricing???

HI girls, Gosh all of your stories are so inspiring and I am so looking forward to this op. I know it sounds a little ocd but I have never wanted anything more than this...ok maybe when it came to the birth of my son I wanted that a little bit more lol lol But I am sooo ready to loose this weight. It is like the body does not match the person that is inside. if you know what I mean? I feel like over the years I have lost who I am, because I have become so over weight....it's like the fat has sucked the life right out me!!!! :angry:I just want to be able to run around with my boy, and for my husband not to feel embarrassed when we go out....even though he says that he doesn't. I know that he loves me with all his heart and wouldn't hurt me at all, but I think that I feel embarrassed with the way that I look. I feel embarrased for him, I guess. I want to be proud of myself for achieving my goals and not let anyone down, especially myself. Anyway, it's late and I will be getting up early again as the little man just has not quite understood that sometimes mummy just wants to lie in till 7.00am!!! lol oh well wouldnt' want to be without him. I think that I will call Dr. Watson's receptionist and speak with her....have also considered changing health funds, if it were possible?? lol

    Dr. Watson pricing???

Thanks everyone for all your advice and support:rolleyes2: My health fund is HBA and when they said that they would not cover my op if it were for cosmetic reasons......I think that I will just go to my appointment, cause God knows I am not waiting for another 6 weeks to see him. I have already put off my op before because of my other health issues. and I don't want anything to stand in my way. This is the last year that I am going to be morbidly obese, I will not be fat for the rest of my life and I will not waste anymore time being like this!!!! Nat36 I think that I might have been in the office when you were there too. You have lost sooo much weight in such a short amount of time.....has it been difficult for you? I am kicking myself right now for not going to see him sooner. Good luck everyone and thankyou all again for your support and advice. :smile2:

    Dr. Watson pricing???

That's ok. I have my appointment on the 17th Oct. in the morning. I have rheumatoid arthritis and have an array of medication which I am currently on...hopefully I will be able to get the operation done. I think that we would probably have to pay for the top up fills each time, but I have heard anything about a dietician or pyschologist etc....

    Dr. Watson pricing???

Wow Cherry!!! that is loads of weight. Well Done you. Were you sore after the op? were you able to choose your own anaethesist? I am a little concerned as to whether or not my health fund will cover this op. I called them today and they said that if the op is for cosmetic reasons then it would not be covered!!! So question would be how do I find out if this is for health reasons and not for cosmetic reasons?? I am so confused and so upset as to what they have said. I don't want to go thru with an appointment and be told that yes I am morbidly obese but it is not life threatening therefore I can not have the op......I just feel like rolling up in a big ball and crying..... Help someone I don't know what to do next??

Hi everyone, Thank you all so much for your info. It gives me some insight as to what I should expect. I have private health cover, so that is a big relief!!! Does anyone know how long you have to wait before you actually have the op? Just curious as to the waiting period... Thanx again everyone, and congratulations to everyone who are going so well.
