  1. PJTP- Hey all, just checking in. Very COLD here again with more snow on the way (3 out of the next 5 days:cursing:). Really love the global warming (not a political statement, just saying. Don't bash me.) Just think, only 3 1/2 mos more of this crap. Anyway, spent yesterday afternoon snowblowing my driveway and my two neighbors. Figured I was out there anyway, might as well do them too. Oh, and I HATE drivers during the winter. I've said it before I know, but I swear people get dumber each year when it comes to driving in snow. How hard is it to simply slow down a little and keep moving?:w00t::cursing::cursing::cursing::bored:
  2. Tues P.M.-worked 3 hrs extra, so got to gym late. Still managed to do 40 minutes of leg workout. Followed it up with 20 minutes more of cardio on elliptical. Yesterday was 85 minutes on elliptical. Very tired after doing legs so late on Tuesday night. Don't think I had enough recoup time. Today A.M.-50 minutes of upper body workout. No cardio as I have a class tonight.
  3. That's tough Kat. When a friend betrays your trust, it is almost as bad as a spouse cheating. DW has never cheated on me, luckily, but she came close when we started dating. (Confession time, I came close after learning of hers. Not proud, but have to be truthful). Any way, had a friend betray my trust over a promotion of all things. He started talking about me behind my back. Said things that had no business being said. I ended it quickly by emailing him and telling him he may be able to ruin me at work. But, one phone call from me and his wife and daughters were history to him. He cheated on her non stop. Still is from what I hear. It sucked as he was my closest friend. I can forgive him, just can never forget and trust him again. See, men can have drama in our lives too.
  4. The question is, what did you pull? And, was it good for you? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :thumbup::biggrin::frown::tongue2:
  5. See? Who says the squeaky wheel doesn't get the grease. I just have to act like a child wanting attention and I get it. (yeah, right, pretend. I'm a man, therefore, I am a child)
  6. Now I'm feeling the love. AWWWWW YEAH!!!!!:wub::biggrin::wub:
  7. Well, that is a talent worth having. Just not one I have.:frown: Well, you I knew I could count on, just don't want to take you for granted. Plus, maybe you were trying to not get too much attention for fear I would unleash my Cowboys fury towards you Giants loving arse.:tongue2: Well, I know I'm still big enough for you not to miss.
  8. You people make it so difficult to miss a couple days of work and try to catch up.:blushing: Anyway, just wanted to check in (even though no one seemingly missed me like you do plain when he misses a day ). Now for my pjtp-I hate idiot drivers in the winter! How people think they can drive as fast as they want to when it is snowing and -15 is beyond me. Have they never heard of black ice? :mad2::cursing::crying::cursing::crying:
  9. This one got lost in the shuffle, sorry again. One of the personal trainers at Golds has done it for me. They used electronic calipers for each of them. As for the level, according to the charts I've seen, I'm just inside the "normal" range (15-18%). I'll take that. Here's what I do for both upper body and legs: Upper body: Chest exercise-almost always bench just because I love to that exercise. I'll throw in db presses every couple of cycles. Back exercise-Lat pulldowns or assisted chin ups. Once in awhile I'll throw in deadlifts. Chest exercise-flyes or pec deck usually. Every now and then, either incline or decline bench. Biceps-Whatever works for you. I mix it up btwn barbell and dumbbells for each cycle. Triceps-I LOVE skull crushers here but throw in cable pushdowns as well. Ab-HATE these, but have to have them. Shoulders-Usually military press or dumbbell press. Sometimes lat raises. Lower back-Either back extensions or roman chair. Delts-Barbell shrugs. I use the same bar/weight as my bench. Legs: Quads-I switch btwn leg press, hack squats and squats each cycle. Calf raises-Whatever your preferrence is. On leg press, I just use the same weight. Hamstrings-Either straight leg deadlifts or leg curls. Quads-Leg extensions Abductor-Abductor machine. Adductor-Adductor machine. Obliques-Cable chops or ab swings using cables. Lots of cardio in the a.m. and some after lifting.
  10. I was over the win by yesterday morning. Just like I was over the Steelers loss by the next morning. Only problem with the Steelers loss was that I made a bet with Steelers fan at church to have to wear the winners hat Sunday morning at church. SUCKED.:blushing: 2 more games and we'll see where we sit then.
  11. What? Me gloat? Never. Not until we are done and in the playoffs. I'll just say it was a very satisfying win.:mad2: Now, weekend was a complete bust. Holiday party Friday night and 5 beverages. UFC night at friends house Saturday night and 4 beverages. Just not good. Monday-upper body circuit training with 11 reps. Followed that with 80 minutes of cardio. This morning-60 minutes of cardio. Yesterday, didn't get above 0 here. Today, not much better. Let me just say, I HATE DRIVERS IN THE WINTER. Took me 1 1/2 hrs to get to work today when it only takes me 35 minutes normally.:blushing:
  12. I have numerous tattoos. 3 on my left upper arm, 1 on my left fore arm, 1 on my right shoulder, 1 on my right fore arm, and one on my right thigh. The ones on my left shoulder make 1 big tattoo theme (God, Family, Country). None of them have become distorted. I think if you lift weights that will help keep your arm toned. I just don't think you'll have a problem. And, as a sidenote, THANK YOU for you service. I was unable to enlist due to reconstructive surgery on my right wrist when I was 16 and lost flexation (not sure that is a word actually) and was denied at MEPS. I respect all the men and women of our Armed Services for the sacrifice.
  13. Darnit, I have to get going on that again. Can't be beat by a little woman.:wink2::crying::mad2: For an update: Wed. night hit the legs again. Yesterday, had SWAT P.T. testing followed with weapons qualifications. Interesting sidenote, last time I wore my dropdown holster for SWAT was in Sept. I had to readjust the straps on my thigh because they were waaaaay too tight and cutting off circulation due to the MUSCLE. This morning was 45 minutes of upper body followed by 25 minutes on elliptical. All I had time for. Have a Christmas party tonight so no more today.
  14. No need for thanks, I'll just take a cash payment.:wink2: Yes, it does. I have to have something to distract me. Otherwise, I just concentrate on how much longer I have to go.:crying:
  15. It is? OMG. :frown::w00t::w00t: Dangit, that would be the dangers of posting too early.
  16. Little longer than 2 seconds, but here it is. You are correct, lifting would help alleviate the depression, but I won't be too hard on you. Soft touch I know. But sometimes that is all you need.
  17. I grew up in Iowa and southern Missouri, does that count? Must.....enforce.....inner.....filter............too late. What can I say, I'm a litte slow.:frown:
  18. True, but didn't respected scientists once say the earth was round and the center of the universe? Not saying, just saying.
  19. Ok, you are forgiven.....for now.
  20. True mrboswell. And remember, when you start to rationalize not going in to work out (and we all know we hit that point) make sure to push through it. I've decided to give myself 1 week off after every 6 wk cycle. Makes it alot easier to keep at it.
  21. Last night: did not get into gym as promised due to the snow. Took me over 2 hrs just to get to my truck at the park and ride. This morning: got up at 0430 and hit the driveway. Shoveled DW's side (I don't care too much as I have a SUV). Then, went to the gym to get my running shoes and headed into work to avoid the majority of traffic. Hit the fitness center upstairs for 40 minutes on the treadmill. Ran a 5k in less than 30 minutes and then just finished it out easy. Tonight will be my delayed upper body workout. Jachut, I have something at my gym that makes cardio better for me. They have a DVD player hooked up to a projector that plays on a screen about 1/3 the size of a normal movie theater screen. As I love movies, this is perfect for me. Only drawback is when they get on a "chick flick" kick. I can tolerate one or two, but when they do 3 or 4 in a row, that sucks.
  22. Last one for the day: Just wanted to note that I finally tried the apples and peanut butter thing.:w00t::cool2::w00t: Phenomenal! I cannot believe I have not tried this before. I had 4 from Thursday until yesterday. I think I could eat this all day every day. Whoever came up with this combination should be put in the food hall of fame. Now, I'm off to torture my body at the gym.
  23. As a fellow right leaning voter, you are going straight to hell for even insinuating Al Gore is right about anything.:cool2::wink_smile:
  24. Gotcha. Plus, we are supposed to get up to 5" tonight. May be a really bad morning tomorrow morning.
  25. Heck no. We get nice and warm and humid. Last summer we even hit 79.
