  1. You sure it wasn't just a reaction to how bad the 'Boys played yesterday?:tongue2:
  2. Friday-Upper body workout for 45 minutes. Weekend-down in IA with really bad weather. Freezing rain and snow. No exercise.:tongue2: Today-55 minutes of cardio btwn elliptical and treadmill. Felt GREAT to get back at cardio. No lifting this week, week off.
  3. Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. I just needed to get that off my chest, again. I doesn't really feel like 20 yrs have passed. It seems like it was only last week that I was crying in the shower that morning 20 yrs ago. CC-prayers are sent for your daughter. I hope all goes well. As it is now 0210 on Christmas morning and I'm at work: MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
  4. Brandy-Thank you for your kind words. Susan-I do not think I am too much of a downer for everyone else, that I know of. I do participate in the festivities, just not with an overwhelming amount of cheer. It's just that Christmas does not feel the same as it did previously. I've talked to my brother and sister and they feel the same way. My sister has 3 kids and we both try to make it more about our kids than about our feelings. That makes it more tolerable. Since Cera came along, I do have better feelings this time of year. Also, I am sorry for your loss. Same as with me, while it was some time ago, it stays with you forever.
  5. PJTP- 20 yrs ago this morning, my sister, brother and I woke up to find our mom was not at home. As it was Christmas Eve morning, obviously, we couldn't figure out why. Shortly after we got up, she came home. Said she had received a phone call earlier and she needed to drive around to figure out the best way to tell us our dad had died of a heart attack in southern Missouri. My parents divorced when I was 3 and we hardly saw him outside of a week during the summer. Even then, he worked instead of taking vacation, so we only saw him a few hours each night. Needless to say, it was a strained relationship. There was so much he, and us, missed out on even before his death. He didn't come me or my brother play in sports or my sister cheerlead. He never met any of our girlfriends or boyfriends. He never even knew our friends. Still, I loved him. He was my dad. I see alot of the way he did interact with me coming out in the relationship I have in with Cera. I tease her the way he used to tease me. He used to tell me I was his favorite oldest son. I tell her she is my favorite child. He had been in the hospital for almost a week prior to his passing for chest pains. He never told us. He died of a complete blockage of one of his arteries leading from his heart. He never had a chance. We never got a chance to say good bye to him. He was a big man, 6' 2" and well over 300 lbs. He never exercised and sat behind a desk all day. I was 18 when he passed away. I have now spent more of my life without my dad than I did with him alive. Even though he was not the father I would have wanted, or needed, he was my dad and I miss him. With all the bad, some good did come out of his death. It was because of all that we missed out with him that I decided on the lap band. Even though I was adopted, body wise I looked alot like him. I was going to do all I could to make sure Cera had a father as long as possible. Sorry for being a downer today. For the past 20 years Christmas Eve and Christmas just don't have the same joyous atmosphere for me. Thanks for "listening" everyone.
  6. That is the attitude I hate the most about adoption. As an adoptee, the brother of an adoptee, and a father to an adoptee, I have a very different view than most. Adoption is a wonderful thing. I guess I am lucky that everyone in DW's family doesn't even consider DD as adopted. They simply look at her and family. DD is bi racial as well. Living in MN during the winter, she looks like she just has a really good tan. During the summer, she gets really tan. Alot of women that see her tell her they are jealous of her skin color. As a matter of fact, I had new tires put on yesterday and they said my brake pads are bad. You must be Nostodamus. Don't like wine, but my new favorite beer is Fat Tire from New Belgium Beer in CO. Very nice quilt CC. I'm sure he will love it.
  7. That'd be the one. For some reason, she is still married to him.
  8. Trust me, his description of it alone would make you want to divorce the man.
  9. Exactly. I am up at the same time every morning. I would tell myself that if I miss today, tomorrow will be easier to miss. I don't want to fall into that rut again. And, you are right, I used to stay up late. Especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Now, by 9 pm, I am looking towards going to bed. Kind of a downer, but I'll take this to the alternative.
  10. What guy wouldn't want to bartend to a bunch of drunk MILF's?:w00t::eek: If it is what my friend calls what he does to his wife in bed, I don't think you want one. PJTP-Today is our dept potluck. Gonna be a long day. Also, I've figured out I shouldn't piss off DW for a few weeks. We are in the process of switching life insurance policies and right now I have 2 policies on my head worth a combined $1M. She may start to think I am worth more dead than alive. Silly woman doesn't realize that is true no matter what.:cool2:
  11. Today a.m., 40 minutes of leg circuit workout. Had to hurry through it as I was dropping my Explorer off for new tires and my friend was picking me up. Plus, it is snowing AGAIN  and we wanted to beat most of the traffic into work.
  12. Great moral X. I used to say that if I had the drive to make it in the gym, almost noone could outwork me. Problem was, I would have the drive for about 6 mos, 1 yr tops, and then stop going. Wouldn't go back to 6 mos to a yr. What a waste. Now, I've been at it since 2 wks post op. I don't try to lift heavy weights, only weights I feel I will be able to do for 3 sets of 12 at the end of the cycle. Of course, if it is a pretty impressive weight to some, I don't complain.
  13. Isn't that how certain movies start?
  14. You LOVE me! I knew it. see above. It is 3 pm here in MN and we just reached 0. I think I would take just about anything higher. Plus, snow tonight/tomorrow, again about Thur and Friday and Sunday. Nothing wrong with more cop groupies.
  15. Keep up the great work and you may just be able to get that wish w/o any problems.:scared2:
  16. Ok, this is week 6 of my 6 week cycle which means 3 circuits of 12 reps. I had my first of two upper body workouts this morning, went GREAT. I was able to do all reps for all exercises. Only problem was on 3rd circuit of bench, I had to stop at 10, rack it for about 10 seconds and kick out the last 2. If I had had a spotter, I would have pushed it, but it was a little light this morning for others in the free weights area. To give you all an idea of where I am at, here is my current upper body workout with the weights used: Bench- 225 x 12 reps x 3 circuits (as mentioned, last circuit was 10 + 2) Lat pulldowns- 150 x 12 x 3 Pec Deck- 120 x 12 x 3 DB bicep curls- 35 x 12 x 3 Skull crushers- 90 x 12 x 3 Incline DB situps- 35 x 12 x 3 DB front lat raise- 20 x 12 x 3 Roman Chair w/DB- 75 x 12 x 3 BB shrug- 225 x 12 x 3 Felt great all the way through. Thanks for reminding me of the need for extra Protein when lifting gentlemen. Sometimes I just need a kick in the head.
  17. Great jobs everyone! As for me, back in the gym this morning for 45 minutes of upper body circuit training. Had a great workout. This is week 6 of my 6 wk cycle with 12 reps. Everything went according to plan. No cardio as I had to get to work and am working late tonight. This week is just not shaping up for much in the way for cardio. Hopefully, next week will be better.
  18. Today-no exercise. Too depressed over the way my 'Boys lost last night. (can't even put in a smiley for crying). Back at it tomorrow.
  19. Well, on my grandmothers side, I have a few relatives from Okla. But, I never see them. Also, last year when I went down to a Cowboys game, my friend and I met a bunch of ladies from Okla. at a tattoo shop that flirted with us most of the night and even invited us to drinks. So, I have no problems with Okies.
  20. Did you have to mention the pants? The images that were coming to mind. But, I digress, have fun tonight. As for me, I am going to my best friends Masters graduation (I almost put BFF, but thought that would too gurly:biggrin:). Then, off to dinner with a bunch of cops celebrating one of our own being smart. Of course, he is a from Texas so we were really surprised he could handle the college classes. (let's see what comes of that comment:tt2:)
  21. Today was 45 minutes of lower leg workout. More snow this morning. Not nearly as much as they said it would be, so that is good. Unfortunately, we are supposed to get another 3-5" tomorrow.
  22. You saying I'm not worth anything?:cursing: J/k. I know I'm not.:w00t:
  23. Actually, alot of guys love to slow dance. Gives them to touch some naughty parts.
  24. Even better.:w00t::w00t: But, yeah, most guys HATE to dance to fast songs.
  25. 2 woman dancing? Hmmmm, the mental images that conjures up.:w00t::ohmy:
