The only thing that is bothering me is the constant itching on my stomach/ It is driving me crazy!!! I go back to the doctor on the 7th next Monday and I was so loopy at the time is that when I will get filled? When do you usually get your first fill? Oh well I am now thankful and grateful that I had this procedure done and I cannot wait to start exercising a little and toning. I know this was worth every ounce of pain I went thru

So it has been awhile since I was last on here. I had the surgery last Weds stayed the night there and was up all night not because the wonderful nurses woke me up but because I had to pee like every hour on the hour and once I got up to pee thay wanted me to walk for awhile. so I finally got to sleep at 8 in the morning got up around 9:30 when the doc came in and was discharged around noon. I don't think the pain was that bad the 2nd day, but on the 1st day I kept asking myself what were you thinking? why did you do this to yourself?,etc... I am thankful that I never really had bad gas pain that I read about a lot on this site. I am on full liquids for 3 weeks which I am thankful for because if anyone even mentions chicken broth it makes me want to GAG!!!!

well tomorrow is the big day I am scheduled to be there at 8:30 and I am ready. This is also day 3 of my clear liquid diet and the headache are a *&(*&! I am hoping everything goes as smooth as possible and that I am in and out. I was never really given a list of what to do the morning of except wash with the soap they gave me anything else??

Good luck hopeinapril, i am scheduled for the 26th. I cannot believe how fast everything went, I have to be there at 8:30am. I know the clear liquid diet SUCKS!! but it is going to be worth it

I am on day 2 of clear liquids and I didn't think I was going to make it this far. I have one more day of liquids and then off to surgery on the 26th at 8:30am I am now trying to get things together to take with me. Any suggestions?

well I am on day 2 of clear liquids and I thought my head was ready to blow. I have had the worst headache but it is finally starting to go away. I have one day left of clear liquids and then I am off to surgery on the 26th I have to be there at 8:30am so I am starting to get a little nervous but after reading this site I am feeling better after reading this site. I am now just getting things together to take with me to the hospital. I figure I will wear their gown (why pack more than needed?) also the clothes that I wear there I will wear home. I will pack up my breathing gadget that they gave me and maybe a crossword puzzle. any other suggestions out there?

Happy Easter all !! I am scheduled for the 26th and I am starting the clear liquids today. I am so excited and thankful that I am working Monday and Tuesday it will keep my mind off of food. I am enjoying some sf jello right now for my breakfast. I do wish I could have a cup of coffee it smells so good but I will live

Good morning to everyone and Happy Easter. I am officially on my 1st day of clear liquids and I am enjoying some sugar free jello right now. I cannot believe that I am being banded on the 26th it is right around the corner. I am excited but yet a little nervous all in one. I am hoping my excitement to have the surgery will get me thru the clear liquid stage without any difficulty.(yeah right) I am working on Monday and Tuesday so that will keep me busy during the day. I am so grateful for everyone on this site for all their advise good and bad. Wish me luck!!!

Hi all, well today is the last day of regular food for awhile. I start clear liquids tomorrow thru Tuesday and then have to be at the hospital Wednesday morning at 8:30am. I am thankful it is early in the morning and not later in the afternoon. I am a little nervous about the whole clear liquid stage I am worried I am going to be starving and a complete BITCH to everyone. (sorry) Does anyone have any advice on what they drank that would kind of fill them up? I am so excited and amazed on how fast the day is approaching. Please any good ideas let me know

did they have you bring home the breathing thing? If so how often do you have to use it before the surgery?

hi everyone, I cannot believe that I have 10 more days to go until my surgery. I am excited I went out today and bought chicken broth,jello,f popsicles,and drinks, still need to get protein,and stuff for after surgery. oh and the most important meds, liquid tylenol,etc. I am so glad that everyone is doing well.

I was told nothing to eat 8 hours before testing.

you will do fine, it is normal to be nervous and wonder what others think about you. just go in be positive.

Well think of it as having a vaction away from the kids for awhile,but yes it does suck that you can't go. Are you going to be able to go to work so soon? What kind of job? sit down,etc

No, I don't think that would be a good idea. The reason they want you on Clear Liquids before surgery and nothing to eat the night before is to make sure there is nothing in the way. My doc told me one time he was doing the procedure on a patient and there was whole corn in the way he had to remove first. So I would say don't do it:thumbdown:

I am scheduled for the 26th also. Did they give you a pre-op diet? I am not on liquids until the 23rd. I am so excited to have this precedure done. Where are you having it done? I am in Ohio. I hope we can stay in touch and lean on each other when we are having a hard time with liquids,etc.

congratulations on your banding. I am scheduled for 3/26 and I am hoping I will be back to work within a week. What problem did you have after the procedure and how did you handle them? Was the gas pain bad? You can do it (stick with the liquids) I think it will get old real fast too but this is something we knew was going to happen sooner or later jut be positive and stick with it. You will be past that stage before you know it
