  1. Hi, My surgery is Wed the 25th and I was thinking about what I should pack. The day I was pre-admit the nurse told me to bring shoes like I had on to use to walk in, I had on good tennis shoes. She said not the slip on house shoes, I needed good support and traction. She also said someome would bend and tie them for me. My daughter wants me to leave my phone at home so I will get good rest. Thanks for the list. pixie09

  3. Hi everyone, Seem to have lost the over 70's group. Are you posting in a different area. I am 3 weeks waiting for surgery and on starting another week of Optifast liquids. Have lost a good 8lbs only have to lose 9.6lbs before surgery on 5/25. This has been a 6 month waiting because of insurance wait but with all the support meetings and other meeting with doc.and nut and others to see if this is the best for me and it has been so helpful and learning. I would like to hear from others my age range and how they are doing. I was told by another Doc group that I was too old. My sister lives in GA and 2 years ago she had the Y and lost 105 lb and has been at her goal wt for 18 months now and is loving it. Hope to hear from anyone out there that would like to talk.
  4. I was told you have to follow the diet because you have to give everything a chance to heal. I have surgery 5/25 but I have meetings with people that have had the surgery and I pay close attention to what they say form experience. Hope all is good for you
  5. Hi, From what I understand the 30 min rule is when you are eating food, not shakes. Hope all goes well for you. I was told that its best to sip all your liquids. Keeps air out of the stomach. Have my surgery 5/25 and It has been a long 8 months but its just around the corner now.
