  1. @@James Marusek Thank you! I will look over the article! Thank you @@eliminnowp! I'm trying to keep at it @@Sajijoma!
  2. I'm almost 9 months post op! I can't believe it. I feel great. I'm exercising, BUT...the scale does not seem to be moving anymore. I've been at 245 (down from 323 on surgery day) for almost 2 months. Anyone else at this point in the journey and having similar issues? I blog/vlog about my journey and how it's changed my life. You can check it our at the link! http://laughingmyassoff.squarespace.com/blog/2016/7/2/37-weeks-post-wls-update-with-pics Hope you're well! Niki

  5. Bought a size 20 jeans yesterday! Was a 28 plus in high school and a 24 plus pre-surgery!!! This tool is amazing!
  6. How's everyone doing? I know I've been MIA, but I'm better about updating here https://www.facebook.com/laughingmyaoff2015/posts/1636808946571738
  7. Finally at home. Surgeon said surgery went beautifully. Lots of drainage. Not much hunger. Otherwise feeling good!
  8. All done! Slept ALL day yesterday! Hope everyone else is doing well!
  9. Thank you for putting this together!
  10. I'm also from Chicago but I am getting the sleeve. Didn't realize this was a gastric bypass topic till after I posted. Good luck on your journey.I'm getting the sleeve also I was going to do the RNY but my surgeon talked me out of it. It's for everyone not just RNY. I'm the one that started the post so I could connect to more people having surgery around the same time as me. My date is Oct 5th so this coming up monday. Isn't it crazy @@Jenaenae84 that it's next week?!?!? I'm the 7th!
  11. @@dede0314 I'm in Rogers Park. Having surgery at Northwestern Memorial
  12. @@dede0314 it's ok! What part of the city are you in and where are you having surgery?
  13. @@CHLOE12 I'm single, I live alone in Chicago where I take crowded buses and trains everyday, I love to go out to dinner and drinks. Every once in awhile, I freak out and think what if someone bumps my belly on the train and hurts my pouch?!? Silly things like that make me think WHAT AM I DOING?!? But then I remember how unhappy and unhealthy my weight has made me. We can do this!!!
  14. @@edie091371 First, Brazilian steak house! Yum! I had a "food funeral" with some friends last week and I could only eat 1/2 of my sandwich dripping with beef grease and cheese spread. I felt the same way though. I was trying to stuff down as much as possible and I get sad when I think of foods I didn't eat now that I'm on my preop diet. I agree with you. This is head stuff. This is going to be a mental battle more than a physical one, for me at least. I'm just trying to think of all the things I will gain for this surgery, not that I'm losing some favorite foods for awhile. Just for fun, here's my food funeral which we called The Last Supper...obviously, I got to play his holiness. This isn't meant to be offensive, just thematic!
  15. Tomorrow is my pre-op diet appointment! So ready, but kinda nervous about cravings!
  16. @@edie091371 I just need to remember that not everyone has the same experience and take comfort in the fact that I've been preparing my body for this!
  17. Also @@kimvox66 I'm in Chicago as well, but at NW Memorial
  18. @@kimvox66 I'm scheduled for Oct 7 and I'm in the same boat. Starting to hear more and more horror stories and the nerves are setting in!!!
  19. Good luck! I'm scheduled for Oct 7 but waiting for insurance approval
  20. "I do hope this surgery is a success because then I can start dreaming again" - That is SO beautiful and SO true!
