Hi . My doc picked the sleeve for me. He decided since I had colon cancer in the past that the sleeve was the way to go. Not sure why but going with what he says. Good luck to you Hun.

Hi there of course we can be sisters!! WLS sisters!! No I dont know what time yet. I have to call a couple of days before and ask the time. But it is scheduled for Oct 19th.. do you know your time? I have to go next week one more time for a physical- and to go over what will happen the day of the surgery I also have to bring a list of any meds I am on and show the Vitamins that I have purchased like the Calcium chewables etc.. I just received my meds that I will be on when I am discharged from hospital they mailed them out to me. -I am excited and nervous. all at the same time!! hugs R~

Hi there my date is Oct 19th .. so excited finally seems real. I have been nesting as well. got all my vitamins.. bought some protein shakes that I like. some loose shorts and easy t=-shirts to pull on. getting all my nail polish off my fingers and toes. just have a running list of things I need to get done. that and work keeping me busy so I dont totally freak out.. in a good way. congrats to you!!

this is true but unfortunately that didnt even give me any kind of sedation conscious or otherwise all I felt was pain and agony. I am still nervous about this anesthesia.. just dont want to know anything or wake up..

I am worried about the same thing. I dont want to tell anyone. so they can say oh you took the easy way out..yeah right..this has been such an ordeal and I have the surgery on Oct 19th..cant wait. thanks for sharing with us. Ramona

I am so worried that I will wake up during the procedure. recently had a colonoscopy- I asked them I will be put out right? they were snappy saying YEs!! we have to get you situated first..lay onyour side etc..well they started and nothing I didnt feel any of the meds..the anesthesiologist nurse kept pushing the meds (verced?) bad spelling.. into my iv. and nothing.nothing.I screamed and cried. they cut out a polyp and took tissue samples..I felt it all. some people think I am crazy but I felt it. it hurt so bad. I have a history of colon cancer and had a big tumor in my rectum that has staples in.. so already issues down there. after it was over ( I never was out at all) the nurse came in and said she gave me 700 units of verced and they usually only give 500 units. and that should have knocked me out. well it didnt (dont you have an alternative pain management plan in place??) then the doctor who kept telling me to be quiet came in and said you dont do well with Verced..umm ya think?? and she told me next time I have a procedure to ask for fentenal? she said just ask for the drugs that killed michael jackson?? umm wow I have to associate me having a procedure with dying?? when I got off the gurny/bed there was blood all over the sheet. needless to say I will now be making sure before I go in to get a guarantee I wont wake up. that was a nightmare. so I guess I am worried I will wake up ..or nothave pain meds that I need. Just gotta have faith.l have had lots of good experiences.this happened a month ago..so it is still fresh.. ughh thanks R~

I have been doing ok with losing weight. I lost 14 lbs. but I was thinking the same thing. seriously?? we have to lose weight to have surgery that helps us lose weight?? umm ok. he did tell me I had a fat liver. so sweet my surgeon. so I did want to lose as much as he told me I want my surgery to go as safely as possible. but yeah it was hard. and so much pressure they weigh me every time I go in. But I think about people that weigh a lot more than me and they have to lose 20 lbs to get to where I am at?? I just dont get it. but I do what I am told because I want this done. I have to go have blood work done today. Next week on the 22nd I am meeting with a preop class thing in richmond. the morning part they go over what happens the day of surgery and what to expect and I have to bring my Vitamins so they can see I have them. I am still waiting on the chewable Iron ones to get mailed to me. . (yummy ! not!) I feel like a little kid have to show them everything.I have ordered stuff from amazon and it comes pretty quick. then the other part of that day on the 22nd I get a physical from some general doctor I have never met. I have to bring a list of all my meds. He goes over my medical history..checks my lungs and throat?? lymph nodes? I dont know what all.I hope not too much. I dont want to shave my legs..ha I had to have a colonoscopy-(history of colon cancer) and a mammogram to be all up to date. so I dont know what this physical is for?? probably just another step to say ok she is good to go? I had to take off the whole day for this appointment. it is from 8am-3 with the surgery what to expect/vitamin show and tell and then a physical in the afternoon. so many hoops to go through. but I want this so it is worth it. and I want to be doing whatever will make the surgery go as well as it can. Have you heard anything about how soon after the surgery you have to go for a check up? Like to see how your incision is doing? They will probably tell me that in this class I am taking. Ok I guess I have typed a novel here.. Just wondering if you are doing these kinds of things as well. Hi there fancy- no I dont have to do a diet before. which is kind of strange. I keep reading about all these people doing liquid diet a month before. no just nothing after 10pm that night before. I am thinking we willhave to do enough Protein shakes and that kind of stuff anyways after. He did have me lose 12 lbs before he would do the surgery. I am so excited and nervous now that I have a date. I am worried about all this gas they talk about being in their shoulders from the gas they put inside of you to operate on you..I guess it moves around in your system till it gets out. I already have a prescription for the liquid morophine as well. and they are mailing all my discharge meds for nausea and other stuff. wow same date!!! I was told I would only spend one night how about you?? congrats!!!

I am nervous and excited. It seems so real now. Have been working on this for six months. Jumping through all kinds of hoops. I am so thankful to have my date. It will be done in Richmond California at the kaiser there. whoo hooo!!!

Hi there. I just received my surgery date and it is Monday Oct 19-2015. I am very nervous but excited. I am having the gastric sleeve. I just ordered the Vitamins from Bariatric Advantage. My doctor is Dr. Aaron Baggs. this will be at the Richmond California Kaiser. I need to find a good tasting Protein shake. I just ordered some one ounce tupperware containers to help me as well. And to help measure out my Water. Looking forward to a healthier me. Ramona
