  1. @@irishaggie ...wow, that sounds horrible! I am so scared of vomiting that I over chew everything. I am so sorry that happened to you. I can only imagine how scary that was for you! This whole process is,a learning game for us! I can not find protein powder that mixes in well. I bought some isopure and it makes everything you mix it with thick and still gets clumpy. If you put it in the blender it gets thick and foamy. Horrible texture to try and drink...I need something I can mix in my juice that is clear and not thick.
  2. @ great report! You are doing awesome!
  3. Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for the sweet comments. It was a much better day today. I was able to get in almost 40 ounces of water and 42 grams of protein . I know this is still not goal but it is soooo much better then I have been doing! The encouragement from this group helps me each and every day!
  4. Ugh...super super super bad day...work was horrible...hurting tonight. ..not getting my protein and water in. Scared to death I am going to end up malnourished and dehydrated. Hormones all over the place...could cry on command...just needed to vent...love you guys...going to bed
  5. @@CHLOE12 He told me could be six weeks
  6. @@CHLOE12 yes it happens to me often. My doc says it is just our body healing and adjusting
  7. @@irishaggie Thank you so much for thinking of me!! The day went better then I thought it would. I worked from 1130 to 5 and was tired but not exhausted.
  8. Okay everyone, I have a question. I am 3 weeks post op tomorrow and sometimes when I move or turn over in bed my incisions feel like they are pulling. It is not really painful nut definitely not comfortable. Is anyone else feeling this and when does it start to go away? Also at the end of a more active day, my incisions feel a little achy.
  9. @ Hang in there! I have definitely had my moments too!! I find getting out of the house is helping me. I love being home but I seem to sink into depression if I stay in the house too long. Mom is coming to get me today to go for pedicures. That should help a lot!!
  10. @@irishaggie Well my job is not really flexible. My boss is a "little skinny" that has never had a weight problem in her life. I overhead her telling someone that if I had made better choices with my diet I would not find myself needing this "ridiculous surgery ". But I plan to be flexible. If I need to leave, I will leave...lol. @@dancingqueene Sleeping was very hard for me too the first couple of nights home. Not only did my incisions hurt but every time I laid down I thought my chest was going to cave in. My dad when and bought me a Brookstone 3in1 memory foam wedge pillow at Bed Bath and beyond. It was a little pricy at about a hundred dollars but it made all the difference. I put it on the bed and then my regular pillow on the bottom part of the wedge and my body pillow beside me and it makes a nest where I can prop my body more comfortably. And having the elevated wedge makes getting out of bed easier. Hope this helps.
  11. @@60&goin4it and @@irishaggie I am scheduled from 10 am to 6pm but have told my boss I am slow going in the mornings. And I will stay until I feel I can't. If I need to go home then I will go home.
  12. I am going back Tuesday (after almost 3 weeks) and I am scared to death it is too soon. And my job is not all that physical.
  13. @@Jenaenae84 I can't have crackers yet...just got moved to soft foods. That was thinner me answering my post. But all surgeons are different and have different eating schedules. I just got scrambled eggs for the first time so I am a happy girl!!
  14. @@anewme2015 I cry when thinking of polishing other people's toes!!! (Manicurist here and I go back to work on tuesday!!!) . Lol
  15. @@julbel721 I went thru about a week where I needed to nap each day from 1230 to 2. But all the sudden that need stopped. I think it is just our body healing. And healing takes rest. I am heading back to work next tuesday and very nervous about it. Is anyone else heading back and what are your feelings. How fid you pack your food? I am not even on softs yet.
  16. @@CHELLB33 I used the gas x strips and they worked really well for me!! My hubby got his date!!!! His surgery will be November 12th!
