  1. @@sweettooth2015 Glad you are doing well!! If you don't have any gas pains it should be pretty smooth sailing!!! @@anewme2015 Glad your doing well as well!!! Did your doctor give you a patch for nausea for behind your ear before surgery? Mine did, just wondering if other's did. I only had nausea this whole time with my first sips of water & protein drink.

  5. It was at least a week before I wanted something beside protein drink & broth. I have yet to feel hungry, & always feel like I just ate a big meal (bloated). Its just been in the last couple of days that avocados for some reason has been calling my name! Nothing over whelming because your just not hungry. I'm just wanting some different tastes than the smoothies, you just get bored with it. I'm drinking 2 Unjury shakes with fat free lactose free milk a day & 1 Unjury chicken broth mixed with water. I alternate my water with propel zereo or powerade zero to have something different to drink. I hope this helps you some. I know every doctor has a different plan for everyone. Best of luck to you! I think you will do great! For me the surgery was not as bad as I had anticipated & so far its been mainly just uncomfortable. Everyday gets better, I'm finally getting my energy back & wanting to get out! I've been to the store a couple of times, & I walk 5-10min. every hour for 12 hrs. This seemed to help me. I plan on walking today for longer times. Feeling really good!!!! Its 11 days post op.
  6. @@irishaggie No puree foods just straight to the soft foods at 2 weeks for up to 3 months. Not much longer, 2 weeks will be here Thurs.

I have been explaining to people the way I feel post surgery physically is how you feel after eating a huge Thanksgiving meal, stuffed, bloated, uncomfortable, not hungry, but some more of your favorite dish still calls your name. I think some of us have enjoyed the support we have received from each other so much on here we would hate to loose some of our family!!! We learn, support, help each other go through a life changing event. I know I have & couldn't have made the transition as easy if it weren't for each & everyone of you!!!!!!! I plan on reaching out to Sherry @@395Ron to see how he is doing today. I will let you know if I hear anything.
  14. Funny you got a summons, so did my husband & I for a guy who stole prescription drugs out of our house. I'm far enough out from surgery it won't be a problem. I don't think you are going to feel like going to court. Call the court house & ask them what they need to not have to appear. Probably something from your Doctor. I still had some gas pains at 5 days, not terrible just uncomfortable, same with gas. Now I'm going through constipation issues, a little tired but feeling pretty good & I'm 9 days out. Each day gets better! Your going to do great!! I'm planning on contacting Ron's wife sometime today, since this is the first day I have really felt like doing much. I will let you know what I hear!
  15. @@sleevemylife They actually said to leave them alone & not to wash them or put anything on them. You can send me one if you want I'm Terri Featherston may say Oklahoma city but I live in Eagle Rock Missouri
  19. I've been doing ok. Having a hard time getting my fluids in. Even a sip hurts. And lacking energy. I'm hoping after my appt today I will be able to start introducing pureed foods. But on the plus side I'm down 15 pounds since the surgery. How about you?I haven't weighed in since the saturday before surgery. I'm doing a lot better today than 2 days ago. I try to sip constantly and really schedule eating, which has been a battle because I go to school fulltime and keeping a protein shake cold is hard. I'm still on shakes and haven't transitioned to any other foods but I do have broth and jello if I need a flavor switch. I walk constantly but plan on going to the gym tonight to get on a treadmill. Today I'm going to try to get some protein20 which will help me get to my protein goal a lot easier and worry free. Sent from my SM-N915P using Tapatalk Good for you! I've noticed on here that it seems like everyone's process before and after surgery are quite different. Like me, my first week was strictly sugar free clear liquids and now this week until week 5 I go to pureed and soft proteins like shakes and mashed up egg whites and stuff. Guess all the end results are the same right? Keep doing what you're doing and hope to keep in touch throughout this journey! I noticed everyone having different process too. Mine is 2 weeks protein powder shakes mixed with fat free milk or water & water or powerade zero or propel zero. suger free jello. Then I go from 2 weeks to 3months on soft foods. I haven't weighed yet to see if I have lost, don't really fell like it, waiting for my 2 week check up.
  20. @@dancingqueene Sounds like a keeper to me happy for you!!!
  21. Well I figured out what my pain was yesterday afternoon & it happened this afternoon after not having hardly any pain, It was an esophageal spasm. A tightness with marked pain in the upper abdomen & lower chest, just below the breast bone. This is like a cramp in the calf & can really hurt. The pain can last an hour or even up to a day. The pain does not radiate to the arm. Esophageal spasm is not dangerous & goes away spontaneously. There is little you can do about it but try to relax, according to my doctor. So mystery pain solved. @@sleevemylife Taking smaller sips help with the nausea, I tried jello today for the 1st time & it filled me up too quick. Try some gas x strips, they helped me a little bit & walking. I only walk for about 5-10min. every hour for 12 hrs then rest. @@whoahbabyy I got sick after surgery with my first sips of protein drink & water but it seemed to be worse with the protein so I would drink my water 1st. It gets better everyday! glad your surgery went well! @ I know I have been adding names everyday & looked on the schedule & thought wow a break ! :-) Good luck on pre-op, everyone is different, I didn't have much problem. Getting closer for you!!!
  22. @@thbrown223 I'm 1 week today, & last night after a few days of nothing I still had some gas pain! I was so surprised, It was like every step I took it got worse, all in my stomach area. As I tried to relax, & finally went to bed I started letting off gas extremely,& feel better today. Had the best bowel movement so far today also. so I don't know if it was the surgery gas or just my intestines. You may be walking too much! Maybe you need to rest some. I would walk for 5-10 min. every hour on the hour after i finished my 5- 1oz water & protein, (2 protein drink 3 waters). I get 60 - 65 oz in a day 5oz x12hrs= 60 then I sip some plain water if i feel like it after my 12hr routine. Very boring. The gas pain should from surgery should ease every day but I think it can take up to a week. So sorry you are suffering! Are you able to stay sitting up some during the day? Can you elevate your upper body some while you sleep? That may help. I also got some gas x strips & took one at night before bed. Hope this helps!
