Hi:

Most all of my life I have never had any problems with weight issues. I had a total of 4 sons (births). It was sort of funny. After my first, I lost all of my weight upon delivery. After my second birth, I had gained a lot during pregnancy and afterwards the weight stayed with me and I soon got pregnant again, in just 4 months and after having that one, my 3rd, I lost all of my weight and even then some! I was quite pleased when I tried on my own clothes at home and they were all too big!

So I went to get some new clothes, trying on one size smaller, a size 10 and still too big! YEAH! LOL So tried on a size 8 and still a might big and baggy. So then tried a pair of pants on that was a size 6 and it fit but was not even snug on me! However then I had my 4th child and just like I had been doing, this one I again couldn't loose the weight again! This was also the most I had ever gained in all my pregnancies! I jokingly said I should have had one more child so that I could loose all of the weight again...LOL Eventually though, I did finally loose it and got down to my average weight but on the high side.

Eventually, I got tired enough about carrying around that extra 20 pounds or so roughly, weighing in at 145 lbs. Went on the Atkins preliminary diet, phase I and lost 22 lbs., weighing in at 123 lbs. Being only 5'1", it was my ideal weight. That was just a day or 2 before meeting my present husband. We met on a telephone dating service and married 10 days later. That was 12 1/2 yrs. ago now. We are still very happily married!

By now you are probably wondering why I am even on this site or concerned about weight loss anyway! Well, things have since then drastically changed! About myself back then, I was super active. My mom lived with us at that time and she would ask me to sit down for a few minutes and watch a TV program with her. I would agree, sit for a minute and then pop back up remembering something else I needed to do. Mom would tell me I was like a jack rabbit, not able to sit still for even 2 minutes!

Well, married in 2003, 4 years later, March 6, 2007 I ruptured a disc and another one slipped forward. It was at work, so I got the terrible medical help of workman's comp. and have never been able to find a neurosurgeon or orthopedic surgeon to do surgery to fix the problem. As a result, I became much less active, was unable to work again and eventually, after 5 more years, was finally approved for disability.

Every year I have gained weight. Have been trading muscle mass weight for fat deposit weight these past 8 yrs. The first few years I gained like 10 to 12 lbs. That increased the next few years to gaining 15 to 18 lbs. Which then increased those next few years to about 20 lbs. So that instead of weighing only 123 lbs. I now weigh in at 227 lbs. and am now falling into the "morbidly obese" category!

The thing about me getting any type of weight loss surgery is that I used to smoke around 3 1/2 packs of cigarettes per day! Then, Sept. 22nd 2013, I quit smoking by using the now popular "E-cigs"! It is great because now I can breathe! I no longer have to use my rescue inhaler nor my nebulizer! My pulmonologist says I no longer have COPD!!! No more asthma! No more emphysema! No more getting bronchitis 2 to 3 times a year!

However, every surgeon that I have tried so far will NOT do any weight loss surgery on anyone who smokes. They won't even do it on anyone who uses nicotine in any form! So my
question is.... Does anyone know of any weight loss surgeon who will do weight loss surgery on someone who uses the E-cigs? I do know that the surgeons in Mexico will. However, since I do have my Medicare & Medicaid for full surgery payment, I hate to have to put out that much cash, plus having to purchase plane fair for 2 roundtrip from NC to Mexico plus meals, incidentals. Plus someone to care for my dog etc.

Thanks ahead of time! My insurance will pay out of State so that is not an issue. If someone is really good at knowing how to search with an engine search to find one that way I would really appreciate your efforts to do so!!!

Looking forward to finding a way to get this weight loss surgery! I know if I can get rid of this huge amount of weight that I am carrying in my belly, that it will greatly reduce the amount of back pain that I endure!

Another question that I have is that there are several different types of weight loss surgeries. The gastric bypass, the sleeve, the lap band, etc. I was wondering why? How do you know which one to choose? What is the difference between these different ways?

Then, my last question was why the weight loss surgeons in Mexico unable to accept health insurance? Oh wait, I did think of one more question! One thing that I am greatly concerned about getting this surgery, well, actually about loosing basically 100 to 110 lbs. is......Will I then need to get plastic surgery to remove all the extra skin rolls that it leaves behind? Or is that only if you have more like, 150 to 200 + lbs. or more to loose?

Would greatly appreciate your help in letting me know any answers you might know to my questions above!
