  2. Hi all - I had my surgery on 5th October so am post-op 5 days. Gotta say that the first 24 hours were hell - the drain from my stomach was awful and very painful but once that was out everything has been going fine. I went home from the hospital (well, back to the hotel) the following day. Fell asleep for pretty much 18 out of the next 24 hours! Downside of the surgery, which I didn't know about, is the hunger pangs whilst on a liquid diet. They have been so strong, they've woken me from sleep sometimes. Not pleasant. Patient care manager advised to go onto slightly thicker substances like drinking yoghurts etc and that has helped. I weighed myself on day 4 and had already lost 15lbs. My start weight being 269lbs. Haven't really looked back since!
