  1. This is me 4 weeks before surgery and 5 months after. It's not all rainbows and butterflies, but I'd do it again 100 times to feel as good as I do.
  2. I'm with Heather5565. I'm 3.5 weeks tomorrow and today I could barely stand in the elevator long enough to go from the first floor to the third! I'm glad I'm not alone!
  3. Yes! I'm getting fluids in but nearly zero protein. A total of about 50 grams in a week. I'm ready to break down. Just the thought of eating makes me begin to gag!
  4. I am 2 days into my second week post-op, and I can't believe how weak and exhausted I get very quickly. For example, it's a LOT of work to take a shower. Lifting my arms to pick up the shampoo out of the shower rack feels like I lifted a 200pound bench press. I'm just wondering if this is what others went through and if so, at what point did you have more energy, and I guess, stamina?
  5. My surgery was 9/21 and I'm so shocked to hear some people's stories who were within days of me. I'm not getting in 64oz. of water or 60-80 g of protein. My best day so far was 40 oz. of water and 40g of protein. Also kudos to those of you back to work. Week two is proving tough for me. I'm VERY weak and really tired.
  6. My doc said if I didn't have a bowel movement by day 4 to take some milk of magnesia. I had surgery Monday and still haven't, so I took half the dose (2 Tbs) this morning (about 5 hours ago). I now have a lot of what feels like gas pain and my tummy is really rumbly, but I haven't gone yet and don't feel like I need to. My pouch just feels like what I would have described as a stomach ache before surgery. Any advice or experience with this? Thanks in advance!
  7. Me! My surgery is Monday the 21st.
  8. Anyone else scheduled for surgery September 21? I just got the call this morning and am ecstatic! I'd love to stay in touch with a few people through the process.
  9. Does anyone have Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield? If so, how long did your approval take and did you have any issues? I'm playing the waiting game right now and it's making me really nervous. Thanks in advance!
