  1. You have hit the nail on the head (both of you!) it's between frustrating and annoying to constantly hear how much better you look. Especially in front of people who may not know your past. I remind myself that people are usually trying to be nice and complimentary (after all, it IS the elephant in the room...pun intended). I just keep telling myself that there will have to come a point when my weight loss is old news and not a topic of interest any longer. But I do chuckle to myself when I consider telling someone, in an uncomfortable/fawning manner, how amazing they look with their teeth fixed/acne gone/fill in the blank with things we notice about people that we don't point out, out of tact. Lol. Weight is just never going to be off limits.
  2. I am almost 7 months out from surgery and down around 110 lbs. I am still considered "overweight" as far as the bmi scale is concerned (26). I currently weigh 165 and I'm 5'7". Dr suggested I shoot for a goal weight of 155. I had originally hoped to get to 145, even 125....cause what the hell, right?!! Lol. Currently I am a solid medium as far as clothing goes, and around a size 8. Husband has been super supportive thus far, but is now asking me if I should be eating more carbs and stuff as he is concerned I will keep getting thinner. I really would like to lose 15-20 more pounds but the husband just seems so concerned. How do I get to a happy medium, where I feel like I utilize this tool the the maximum, without making him overly concerned in the process? I do know that I have always been able to carry/hide excess weight well, and that I always look thinner than I am, due to my build/muscle mass. But this soon out from surgery seems too soon (and too high of a weight) to go into maintenance. He is probably just used to me being overweight and this seems so quick to become thin, I just need to know how to bridge the gap between his fears and the reality of the surgery. Thanks in advance! Attaching a pic for reference.

  5. I lost my mom 5 years ago and my best girlfriend 2 years ago. They were the most supportive people in my life. I would give anything for them to be here to support me and celebrate my success. I know they would have been more proud of me than anyone❤️
  6. ....but doesn't have the nerve to post on their own behalf. Just want to thank everyone who posts. I love reading all the topics and learning about wls and feeling like I have (albeit imaginary) weight loss friends!!! Maybe one day I will get the nerve to actually post something relevant. Or to comment on someone's post! There are a few of you I really connect to. Thank you for your authenticity. I don't have much of a support system as far as my weight loss goes. I'm a pretty private person who happens to have a high profile job in a gossipy industry. So I tend to keep quiet about the ongoings of my personal life. That's where lurking these forums comes in. And I totally feel a lot better about all of the worries and concerns I have on a daily basis. I come home and look up whatever is bothering me and almost always there is a wonderful post, quelling my fears with the suggestions and knowledge of others who are far ahead of me in their weight loss journey. Thanks everyone! You are all awesome❤️
