I work in Columbus. My surgery is 12/31 at Riverside with Dr Rana. Have you had your surgery yet?
  5. I'm having surgery on 12/31 at Riverside. Dr Rana is my surgeon. I'm a WW repeat offender. My last 3 months with WW was recognized by my insurance carrier so I only had to do an additional 3 months of supervised weight loss program.
  6. When's your surgery? Who's your surgeon? I'm in Marysville. Surgery in Columbus at Riverside with Dr Rana on 12/31.
  7. "FL_Buckeye" we have similar stats & I'm a Buckeye too. Good Luck!!
  8. I am also December 31st. We can DO THIS!
  9. My abdominal ultrasound revealed large cysts on both of my kidneys. I had to have a kidney specific ultrasound, visit to a urologist and get a kidney CT. Cysts are simple but I have some kidney stones. Discovery of cysts & stones didn't hold up my surgery. I'm scheduled for 12/31. My pre-op class is Monday 12/14. What do you find out in this "class"? Clear & full liquid class is on 12/16. Pre-admission testing is 12/21. Then Christmas, then surgery!
  10. I'm 48 years old. 5'7" HW 272 CW 256 GW ??? I'm excited/nervous. My timeline: Jul - bariatric seminar Aug - group NUT class & initial labs Sep - physical & first one-on-one with NUT Oct - upper GI & H-pylori ok. Abdominal ultrasound found kidney cysts. Followed up by kidney ultrasound, visit to urologist. Kidney CT found 2mm kidney stones, which led to 2 consecutive 24-hour urine collections. I now have to increase H2O, take magnesium citrate and repeat kidney CT in 6 months. Nov - psych clearance & final NUT visit Dec - insurance approval (only took 3 business days) I was required to do 6 months of supervised diet but only had to do 3 with the surgeon because I had 3 months of Weight Watchers weigh-in booklets. I have a pre-surgical "class" and labwork on Monday. The process seems long but it's been a very busy 4 months with all these doctor's appointments. Thank goodness I have great insurance and met my deductible & out-of-pocket before I started this whole process!
  11. My gastric sleeve is scheduled for 12/31. My surgeon will be Dr Nirav Rana at Riverside Methodist Hospital. I'll be watching the Buckeyes & Fighting Irish in the Fiesta Bowl on New Year's Day. O-H
  12. I'd like to be a member of the December 2015 Sleevers. The link doesn't work for me either. My surgery is scheduled for 12/31.
  13. I got my surgery scheduled today! New Years Eve, can I get a whoop whoop?! Just under the deductible wire.
  14. I'm 48 and have been overweight/obese most of my adult life. I was considering band until I attended a WLS seminar in July. Then I changed my mind to gastric sleeve - it made more sense for me. Since then, I've had bloodwork, group dietician meeting, full history with the resident doc, 2 one-on-ones with NUT, upper GI, abdominal ultrasound and met with psychologist once so far. My abdominal ultrasound found cysts in my right kidney so surgeon referred me back to my PCP for follow-up. PCP ordered an ultrasound of both kidneys. Voila, cysts on both kidneys. No I get to go see a urologist on Tuesday, do some testing for the psych doc and see him again on Thursday. Next week is cardiac clearance and the day before Thanksgiving is last NUT appt. Everything is falling into place except for these kidney cysts. Radiologist is throwing around the term PKD, which scares me. I have no known family history, kidney function is normal and have no pain. Worried about what urologist will tell me. Scared it will derail everything I've done to date. If it is PKD, devastated is the only word that comes to mind. Fingers crossed...
  15. Update: kidney cysts are ok. I have some 2mm kidney stones though. Did a 24-hour urine collection two days in a route to find out why I'm making stones. Have results but don't know how to interpret. See urologist tomorrow morning for his interpretation. Got cardiac clearance. Will not need IVC filter - YAY! Finished NUT appts last Wednesday. Got final report from psych. Everything was submitted to UHC for approval (probably on Black Friday since docs office was open). Patient Navigator says UHC takes 1-2 weeks before they approve/deny.
  16. Thank you KindaFamiliar. Update. Doc ordered a CT with contrast on kidneys. Scheduled for tomorrow morning. Results on Friday.
