  1. Was up all night power cleaning in a crazy new-life nesting haze.
  2. I'm scheduled for August 24th too!!! SO excited! I'm also terrified. I've tried so many diets and exercise programs and they always show very little progress if any, I have this little voice in the back of my head saying I've gone to all this trouble and all these hoops jumped through and I'm gonna be that one anomaly that will get the surgery and somehow through all the special diets and following the program for the rest of forever and I will still be this same 52 BMI person. I'm so ready to live my life and be healthy, but it's hard to wrap my head around myself as a healthy person when I have been overweight/obese my entire adult life. So excited for this new life! #startingnew
  3. Calculating and finding out that my BMI was literally double what it should be. I'm literally holding enough weight for two of me.
  4. I was all geared up to get stern with my doctor with a "if you're not on board I need a new doctor" line all raring to go...turns out she knows my surgeon, has several patients who have had the surgery, and even though I personally had no Co morbidity my BMI and family history was enough to get her on board. I say give your doctor the benefit of the doubt but go in with an action plan to back up your decision.
  5. I started with the "abdominal surgery" route at first, but then found out that we had three other people in the office one of which is my direct supervisor who'd done WLS and everyone was very accepting and supportive and the ones who weren't abide by the "if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all" rule.
  6. My goal is to match the weight on my driver license since I was 16: 160 lbs. I'm 282 right now at 5'3. My doctor told me to strive for 80% of my "excess weight" which is 180.
  7. I have my final pre-op appt with my surgeon tomorrow to sign paperwork then it's August 24th for surgery!!! Woot Woot! Started this process in January can't wait to start my new life!
