  2. Hi Everyone, I haven't posted a lot. I'm still a rookie at this. I have been so thankful for everyone sharing their experience that I thought I should be brave and share too & become active here. I'm 45 yrs old (will be 46 next week .. gah!) and had the band put in about 5 years ago. No complications that I was aware of. I had a fill, then unfill etc...I finally got to sick of it I had the revision to RNY on 08/11. I only lost about 30 lbs. My doc said that my band had slipped and it was too tight. Sooo glad it's gone. Oh and get this....I forgot to weigh the morning of surgery. I haven't got on the scale because I'm still all bloated & swollen. I think I started around 307 lbs. Here's to a new outlook and new behaviors!
  3. Wonderful news! Sorry I'm mostly a lurker but I think we had surgery on the same day 08/11? I had a revision from the band to RNY . So I thought why not jump in! You got this! No regrets????
  4. I was wondering the very same thing! I have 2 cats.. spoiled rotten. I'm having the Lapband removed & revised to RNY on tues 8/11. Thanks for asking that question & to those who replied. Good luck to you!
  5. Thanks Kaye ! It's always good to know about the ol' bowels and what they're doing... or not doing I guess! How's it coming along? My surgery is a week from today. Pretty excited to get the band out and have the bypass. Hopefully, the band has prepared me a little bit for a change to the bypass. I eat soooo slowly and I puke with the band when I don't chew or my bites are too big. That's almost dailey sometimes. I had an upper g.i. and he said the band looked pretty tight. I kind of feel sad in a weird way as if I should apologize to my poor body for not taking care of it like I should. I'm blessed to have all my senses and functions and yet I do this to it. Sigh. Well, hopefully I can make the best of it and become good friends to it! ????
  6. Thanks everyone for your replies! I'm still trying to figure out replying and threads. Der. Am so excited to get the band OUT but I'm worried about the pain/recovery. After the band it was cake!
  7. Hi, I'm Sundie. Hopefully I'm doing this right. I'm scheduled for a revision from the Lapband to the bypass and I am, of course nervous. Especially since I'm self pay!! Gah! I'm just here reading and it's great! Thanks to everyone for sharing! I'm 5'4 and starting out at 307 big ones. I'll be 46 next month. Talk about a pivotal time in my life. Woot!
