  1. Originally Elizabethtown KY. Now Fuquay Varina NC
  2. Do you know if the meetings are open or do you have to be using Rex for surgery to go?
  3. I just looked they haven't posted for next month yet. I'll keep a look out. I think that support will be the key to success.
  4. That's really awesome! When is the meetings there? WakeMed has one the second Tuesday of the month.
  5. That's why I said tentative lol. We are hoping to get both of ours done at the same time so both of us have to get all the pre testing done. Also they won't let us do it at the same time unless we have a "baby sitter" at home for recovery lol. I gotta tell ya I was surprised that there had been so many in the area. I think it would be awesome if there was some kind of local monthly meet up to support and share with one another.
  6. Stay positive! I know it sounds like the pot calling the kettle black type thing but you can do this. If you're OCD like I am you can use this time to plan. I've been researching types of food, clear liquids, etc etc we can eat or will be eating. I've also been using this time to continue to research and read everything I can. We have been debating this for a year and have just made the decision about 3 months ago.
  7. Extremely! My date is tentative though. My husband and I are both having it done so we are trying to work out logistics.
  8. My understanding is that fluids will act as a filler not allowing you to be able to eat enough. More liquid intake during meal time means less protein intake. But I could be wrong.
  9. I'm going gastric bypass. Insurance covers without doc supervised 6 month diet, thankfully. Saw that yours requires it. Ugh I'm so sorry.
  10. Hello I'm in Fuquay just south of Raleigh. I've started the process. Looks like I will have the majority of my presurgery testing done within the month. If all goes well surgery will be scheduled for the beginning of October!
