  1. I am told I can pick my date, and I want it done in August. Has anyone heard of either Dr. Lopez Corvala or Dr. jaime Ponce de leon in Tijuana MX?
  2. Congratulations! Once you get past the recovery, you will realize that this is one of the best things you have ever done! I had a tummy tuck after losing 60 pounds, about 6 years ago. Unfortunately, I have gained all of my weight back, and am thinking of getting the gastric sleeve in Mexico to get the weight back off. I always did do things backwards! LOL! But even with all of this weight back on me, I still love my tummy! I'm happy for you, and wish you the best. And BTW, can you tell me how I get information about cosmetic surgery in Mexico? My daughter now wants a tummy tuck, and I want to ensure she gets the best she ca get. Can you guide me to a website or contact info for whoever did yours? Thanks, and more congrats! It is a long recovery (at least for me it was - they cut my muscles too and shortened them so I had a lot of pain), but hang in there. You look great already!
  3. Hi Dr. Lopez, I am thinking of coming to Mexico for a gastric sleeve operation by you or one of your colleagues. My BMI is 31, so not too bad. I have IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome) and fibromyalgia. Because of these, I am in pain and fatigued most of the time. Plus, I have nerve damage from a previous L5-S1 discectomy/laminectomy with bone graft. Because of this, I take 6 mg of long-acting morphine, 3 times a day. With all of these things already happening with me, I am wondering if the gastric sleeve procedure might make me feel worse instead of helping me to loose weight? What are your thoughts on whether or not I should have the gastric sleeve? Thanks, Dawn
  4. Hi everyone, I have been poking around the forums without finding anyone else mentioning these issues, so I guess I need to ask the group. As the title says, I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). This means that I have trouble with certain foods (i.e., fatty or greasy), but also my stomach will act up for no reason, making me feel nauseous, weak, and gassy. Constipation is a constant companion, but I manage that with Metamucil and other mucoids. I also have fibromyalgia, which makes me achey all over, and fatigue and weakness are also a problem. Besides that, I had two back surgeries, one which caused nerve damage, so I am taking a lot of strong pain meds to control that. I mentioned my fibromyalgia to the pre-op nurse, but didn't get any reaction. I am considering going to Mexico for the gastric sleeve operation, but I am worried about side effects due to my IBS and fibro or many of the meds I take. Does anyone else have either or both of these conditions? Am I crazy for considering this surgery? Especially going to Mexico for it, where, once I come home, my doctor will be far away and unable to help me with follow-up. I spend a lot of time on my couch, because of the pain and the fatigue. Exercise is not something I can do a lot of, and if I do walk too long one day, I get a major flare-up and have to rest for two or three days. Can anyone relate? Can anyone tell me if the sleeve will help me or harm me? All of your comments are welcome. Thanks, Dawn
  5. Hi, I am stressing too, but my stress is indecision. Should I, shouldn;t I? I read here about all the problems that people have, and it worries me. I am considering having the surgery done in Mexico, and I worry about what if something happens, and I can't get back to the doctor to see what is wrong?
