  1. Hey there! Just had my surgery scheduled for 2/9. Glad to see I won't be alone! I was supposed to have surgery last Friday, but I was sick and had to reschedule. I can't believe (after 5 million hurdles and unforeseen stuff) that this is going to happen! Let's K.I.T. ????
  2. Good question, Redemmy. I'm sure that they have to go by each patient to a certain extent. I know that you can't just stop certain meds (like the ones you mentioned). Good luck with your surgery!
  3. Once everything was actually in, it took a week and a 1/2. A couple things had to be resent. I also found out I had a silent heart attack from my EKG and gallstones (no symptoms). I will keep taking my blood pressure meds and call on Monday about the bc pills.
  4. Hey all! I FINALLY got approved! I have been working on getting surgery for about a year and a half, and I can't believe it was approved! I am actually having surgery next Friday. Yikes! I have been following my surgeons 2 shakes a day and a lean dinner diet, and when I called to ask if I need to change things, they said no. So..... 1. What kind of diet were you on right before surgery? 2. I forgot to ask, but should I continue to take my blood pressure meds and birth control pills? I'd appreciate any wisdom you have to share!
  5. Hi Cheryl. I was wondering the same thing. I also have RA and am off of my Humira, Methotrexate and Relafen (NSAID). I am seeing my primary for final approval on Monday. Saw something (briefly) about NSAID patches on TV, but don't know if they are widely available yet. It's good to see someone else on here that has RA. Best of luck to you!
  6. Hey, everyone. I just got the referral to see a surgeon approved. Is it possible to get a pre approval from my insurance (BSBC CAL)? I am so afraid that I will have jumped through these hoops only to have the surgery denied. Thoughts or advise? Thanks!
