  1. <!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->gabeekeeper<!-- google_ad_section_end --> Yes, Dana did the consultation today. When I left, I told myself, yes I am going to get this done even if I have to do self-pay. She mentioned some financing options that didn't look too bad at all. Congrats on your surgery. I had a bad experience with Anesthesia one time so I think I will have to opt for the Hospital route to be safe.
  2. Today I had my first consultation and they told me it will cost 17,000 if I self-pay. My husbands insurance bcbs of Florida will not cover it so now I will see if I can get a company that covers it through my employer but I really thought it would cost about $10,000.:cry
  3. Good idea about wearing heavier clothing. It's cold here right now. In the 50s with no sunshine. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. It's the big chilll. Maybe I have a parka that I can wear from my days living in Milwaukee. heeeeheeeheeeheee. Actually after eating all that christmas food, I probably will pass just fine.
  4. Are you totally put under for this surgery or is it local? Do they cut you or is it done through laproscope/belly button?
  5. I have BCBS of Florida PPO. I am not sure whether or not the surgery is covered. What will they be looking for? Attempts to loose weight? I recently didn't do well on the Metabolic Research Program, did ok on Weight watchers? Problem, I am just getting bigger and bigger and it's in my genes. Do they look at diseases like Hypertension and High Cholesterol which I have already. Diabetes is rampant in my family but, I have not been diagnosed with that.
  6. I had a bad breakup and have been depressed and feeling bad about myself for 2 months. I am divorced and have 1 child. 2 months ago, I weighed 196. I now weigh 210 and I am about 5'5 and wearing size 16's again. To have someone you loved for 2 years break your heart by saying such nasty things is unbearable at times. I want this lapband surgery for myself not for him. I want to be able to feel confident and marvelous. One thing I have going for me is that I have a great career, I drive a brand new 2008 Sky and I don't look my age, 43 so I am optimistic about my future. It just really hurts right now. So I will stop my whinning. I look forward to meeting someone who is not a Dee Dee Dee.
  7. Wow @ Donna. that is really great. I have lost so much money on silly products and programs. Were you able to use insurance?
  8. I am curious? How much are you trying to loose?
  9. I am in Jacksonville also looking for a good doctor? How did you find this doctor?
  10. I live here in Jax and I have a consultation with the Dr.s Office that you used on Thursday of this week. I am worried because i am probably just on the border of being eligible in terms of having a high enough BMI. I am 5'5 and weigh about 205 or so.
  11. Good luck on Friday. Are you self-pay because your insurance wouldn't cover it? Is that Mexico or New Mexico?
  12. I have a consultation this week to learn more about the surgery as well as see if my BMI qualifies me for this surgery. I would like to see if anyone has been about my weight and height and had the surgery?? I am tired of paying goofy places like this metabolic place I paid over $550 last month only to gain 6 pounds in a week!!! I was supposed to loose a minimum of 3. I need a sure thing.
