  1. Hey Everybody, I was wondering if anyone has experienced this or knows the answer to my question. Can my band swell up after coming down after a flight. Reason why I ask is because the last couple of weeks I have been doing fine with eating. After I got off the terminal I went to the restauraunt to order a soup and all of sudden I felt a pain. It was the same pain as if I swallowed a ball and it got stuck. I didn't throw up. I just burped it out. I get confused sometimes with this band. Because last night I ate great. I had salad, chicken, and mac and cheese. I may have eaten more than I should but never like I used to eat before the band. does the band maybe swell up from a big meal before?
  2. Hey Merced, Thank you so much for the advice. I totaly relate because I would throw up slime after a few bites and then I would go back to eating without problems. I will be careful now thanks to you. I hope I'm not too late
  3. Hey Kat817, I know that I don't make the right choices when I eat. To correct you about the pizza deal. I can't eat a whole pizza. Maybe one slice and a half and thats it. It's just weird. If I eat a meal lets say the night before does my band swell and then carry over to the next day? Today I am only going to drink water and shakes. So far I am doing fine. Everything is going down smooth. I drink warm coffee in the morning followed by room temperature water then a shake. Maybe I just need to shake it for a few days to see how I do. I really appreciate you responding to my problem. You are a jewell
  4. Hey guys, I want to know if there is a difference. Lots of times when I get food stuck I just slime it out until it clears. I hardly ever have to really throw up like when your reflexes take control. Is it still considered damaging when you just burp out your food. Because it doesn't hurt or anything. It's just annoying. If that does happen do I need to wait 24 hours again to eat. Because it happens often to me but I just burp out slime and go back to eating a couple of hours later until I eat normal again. Is it okay? I hope someone understands what I am trying to say. Have a great day everyone!
  5. Believe me I am the junk food king! But I knew that if I didn't make a change then I would probably get bigger and bigger. I have been banded for a year and 3 months. It is challenging at times but once in a while I can eat junk food but just not splurging like I used too. You just can't. Sometimes you miss it because you see your friends take huge bites out of hamburgers or pizza. You will never be able to do that again. For me it was emotional because I missed being able to do those things. It's okay once in a while to eat junk food but if you can't see yourself accepting moderation well I would re consider this surgery.
  6. Hi Everyone, Hope everyone is doing well. I'm just confused. I have been banded for about a year and 3 months. I have lost about 80 lbs. I recently have hit a plateu. Its okay though because I finally got adjusted for the 3rd time since the surgery. I didn't realize that you have to adjust the band quite often to fit that sweet spot. Anyways I am miserable. One day I can eat okay and the next I can't even drink a shake. Few hours later I can eat a good size meal that same day. It is so weird. It's like I don't have control. No matter what I eat it hurts like hell. Its the worst pain. What I am trying to get at is why somedays I can eat normal and the next day can't even drink a shake. Can someone explain to me the nature of this band. It is so frustrating and want to know what should I do to fix this. When I recieved my 2nd fill the doctor tightened it so much that I couldn't even swallow my spit. I threw up all day. Well he fixed it and after the 3rd adjustment I quickly had problems again but not as bad. So I stayed on liquids and was able to eat okay but not how I need to eat. Still it's hardly anything and I starve. Then tomorrow I can eat a whole pizza. I am rambling now hopefully someone in lapband world can understand me. Love you guys clifton

I have lost 70lbs and am very happy. My problem is is that I have started a bad habbit again of eating wrong. The good thing is that I eat but I don't eat like I used to. I can't. My biggest problem is that I am constantly on the road and can't eat meals like everyone else. My job demands constant driving and making sure I get to my destinations on time. I can't slow down. So I resort to eating kettle cooked chips and eating a meal at the end of the night. NOthing is healthy for road travelers on the go. It is so frustrating. Also I love to eat ice cream. It is the best thing in the world. Question one about the band after I eat a meal is ice cream considered a liquid? Reason why I ask is because of the rule about not drinking one hour and a half? Also I find myself eating more food than usual and I don't feel full. Can my band get messed up if i am eating a lot of food and not feeling pain? Last question: Every week I get an episode where I have to throw up because I am still learning about certain foods that get stuck. eggs are the worst. I have had this problem for about 2 months. I am scared that my band is damaged or something. I guess I just need some insight. Can any one help? </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="alt2" style="border-style: none solid solid; border-color: -moz-use-text-color rgb(217, 217, 217) rgb(217, 217, 217); border-width: 0px 1px 1px;"> </td> <td class="alt1" style="border-style: none solid solid none; border-color: -moz-use-text-color rgb(217, 217, 217) rgb(217, 217, 217) -moz-use-text-color; border-width: 0px 1px 1px 0px;" align="right"> </td></tr></tbody></table>

  9. Has anybody had this feeling of soreness when drinking water. I think it is because last night I had food get stuck and after everything passed through I continued eating after the pain went away. Maybe I should've just stopped. Is this the reason why. Should I be concerned that my band slipped. Should I not eat anything AGAIN for a few days. I hope not because that sucks! I appreciate any help and by the way this lapbandtalk.com is great. I have had such great support.
  10. Thank you so much guys for the help. I just talked to the lady that set up my surgery with my doctor in Mexico. She told me to go see this doctor that will do a flouranoscopy to see what is wrong and I will get an unfill. I feel so much better. I have to go back on liquids now:thumbdown:. Thanks again everyone. This is a great site.
  11. Tell me this. I threw up two days ago. the next day I ate food and I was fine. Now it is 3 days since and I feel like this again. The problem is is that my doctor is from Mexico. I don't have insurance. Can I just wait until the holidays are over or does it have to be right now?
  12. I had my band tightened about 1 month and a 1/2. I was so proud that i didn't throw up before but now I think it's too tight. I have thrown up about 5 times now since and this week I cant get anything to go down without having serious pain and constant burps. Is my band slipping? I am so scared. I hope everything is okay. I am scared because now I chew things extra slow and make sure it's mushed before I swallow and still it hurts. Does anyone have the same Problem?
  13. my surgery was in nov of 07. it has been about 6 months. I had this last fill about 3 weeks ago. it is weird because somedays i have no problem eating and then all of a sudden today i started with some broccoli and bam i have this slime in my mouth and i'm puking.
  14. I had my second fill and now it is tight. everything i eat gets pretty much stuck no matter how small the bite. and some days everything goes smoothly. Today i threw up for the first time. I have had no problems with PB i guess you call it. Is it true that i have to wait 12 hours before i can eat anything again. that sucks. I need food. I started eating some broccoli and started chewing some meat when all of sudden i had to throw up. can some one help me on this one. I am hungry!!!!
  15. I got my first fill and i have lost weight. the only problem though is that i think it is too tight. I threw up for the first time and is it true that i have to wait another 12 hours to eat again. If so this is horrible. I just took some small bites of a salad and I was hurling. Sorry for being so gross. so do i have to really wait 12 hours. how can i do that without fainting. Also it seems that everything i eat no matter how small feels like it is stuck in between my chest and stomach all the time. Somedays i can eat and everything is okay. Any suggestions:sad:
