  1. You could die a ton of other ways, at least if you die on the table you won't know, you could drown or get shot 100 times finally dying on the 100th bullet, I'm sure that would suck more than not knowing and feeling no pain. Same with a plane, so much more to worry about in life than being afraid of something you have no control over.
  2. What exactly are you calling a gulp? Like a short chug, so gulp gulp gulp right in a row so it's all the Fluid at one time or it's swallow, sit a sec, swallow, sit a sec swallow? I'm afraid to chug, because i've been told not to, although I used to be able to chug 64oz at a time, now I'm afraid to try it at all, so I put more liquid in my mouth than I should and swallow some of it, sit a sec, swallow sit a sec, swallow. I work outside so I get really thirsty and that's the best i've come up with to satisfy my thirst. That's me, I miss being able to drink that much now, especially when I'm so thirsty at work
  3. I had mine 8/19, I started the liver diet 8/5, I lost 29 pounds in the two weeks before the surgery and I've lost another 31 since. 60 is a lot of weight in 5 weeks but when you have 250 to lose, it's a drop in the bucket. I'm still on purred foods until I go in for my one month 9/23, my surgeon seems to be more cautious as others as our liver diet is super strict and others I've heard is just 1200 calories a day. Did everybody have to drink that Calcium magnesium nitrate stuff that makes you go #2? I feel 100% but still have to be careful about drinking too fast as i used to be able to drink 32oz in 8.9 seconds, now that takes me 2 hours if not more.
  4. I haven't tried the vanilla, the chocolate pudding isn't really that good, but put it in the Protein shake, with a banana and some PB2 it's not bad.
  5. We found these at Sam's Club, which no longer carries them http://mhpstrong.com/portfolio/fit-lean-power-pak-pudding/gallery/performance-foods/ I've been adding them to my Protein shakes to change the consistency up a bit, they also make brownies http://mhpstrong.com/portfolio/fit-lean-protein-brownie/gallery/performance-foods/ I'm curious what peoples thoughts are on them, if they currently eat them, it seems like a great way to get some extra protein. Have a super awesome day!
  6. Story of our lives, damed if we do, damed if we don't.
  7. Thanks for the replies everybody. I'm rather surprised that there isn't more emphisis on fruits and veggies
  8. Interesting, our entire lives we were told fruits and veggies, fruits and veggies, now it's just protein, protein, fruits and veggies if you have time and feel like it... Thanks for the reply ...
  9. What have you folks found is the best way to get your fruit/veggies in a small amount? Is there a really good juice out there that you can have a couple ounces of and get your fill of fruit/veggies for the day? I've started to look into it and can't find much, looking to be miserable for an ounce or two and be done with it. Thank you Stuart

  11. They verify you are a NY resident now so I can't just get a NY policy
  12. One would think the drs office would know that website, as I'm sure I'm not the first one from out of state to want coverage ... Thanks
  13. I barely feel comfortable having the surgery done in my town, let alone having it done in a foreign country a couple thousand miles away where nobody speaks english, may as well have the surgery in Florida would be the same thing, HA! I don't know if I mentioned this I am in NY, not Florida where my policy is, as I am a Florida resident, not a NY resident.
  14. No, I did not, I trusted the doctors office that called and was told by BCBS that it was covered, when is dealing with an insurance company ever easy and to go through my benefits book, if I knew where it was, wouldn't have been easy either, why I figured the office knew what they were talking about when they said yes, it was covered.
  15. That's interesting, what if the surgeon isn't in Florida but in NY where it is easily available to get the surgery? Thanks!
  16. Thanks ... it's incredible they are willing to pay for multiple heart attacks, diabetes and any other possible issues I could have as well as medication, yet not let me have one surgery that could change all of that
  17. I'ver personally harassed them three times, the doctors office has tried calling their special phone number but it's so busy after over an hour trying nobody ever came on the line, my folks even went to their office and sat on hold for the nurse because she couldn't wait. The letter of rejection hasn't shown up when it was denied two/three weeks ago. Thanks for the advice . . .
  18. Hello, I've been going through the process since early January, the nurse called BCBS of FL to see if it was on my policy on day one, they told her it was, I went through everything for it, they submitted for final approval and BCBS said it's not covered, apparently Bariatrics under a single person Obama policy is excluded, even the Platinum coverage which I currently pay $450 a month for, my question is has anybody recently had success with BCBS of Florida and/or what plan do you have in Florida that covered it. Thank you very much for your help Stuart
