  1. I had my lap band surgery in January and I continue to have pain on my left side, just below my rib cage. I have discussed with both by bariatric surgeon and my personal care physician. Both have said it could be constipation, but I don't see how it could be. It seems to get worse with exercise. I would love some advice about what it could be.
  2. Hi, I'm Jen. I live just outside of Augusta with my husband, my three year old son and our Jack Russell Terrier - Maisy. I was banded on 1/14/08. My starting weight was 257 and my current weight is 223. I am a Program Manager for an Early Head Start, Head Start and Child Care Facility in Augusta. I also coordinate training and professional development for all the staff within the agency I work for.
  3. Hi, I was banded 1/14/08 and I had a hard time finding a protein drink I really liked. I decided to try Profect, as my nutritionist said a lot of patients liked it. You can order it at Protica.com. It is pricey, but you get 25 grams of protein in a 2.5 ounce vial. It comes in a variety of fruity flavors. At first I found there was still a fairly strong aftertaste, but after about a week it's unoticeable.
  4. Hello, Dr. Trieu did my surgery on January 14, 2008. Everything has gone very well for me thus far. Maine General is not my preferred hospital, but I was pleased with my experience at the hospital. All of the staff at the bariatric center have been wonderful. Good luck to everyone.
