  1. Who is your surgeon? I'm also having my surgery in Houston.I'm actually in The Woodlands area. I used Dr Balette. Below is his website. Since I was self pay it went very quickly. I had my surgery at the end of March. Dr Balette is awesome. http://www.sgotw.com Oh, nice! I'm scheduled to have surgery on the 19th. Closer to SW houston, though.

  3. I'm nervous too!!
  4. I understand! Waiting a month was hard! But part of that was my psych paperwork not being forwarded to the surgeon. It had to be tracked down. I didn't expect to be approved., especially without any comorbidities. So when I got that message I was floored. I started shaking. I'll cross my finger for you!!
  5. I also got my approval on Friday after waiting a month! The secretary scheduled me before even talking to me because she knew I wanted to get this done as soon as possible, while I'm On summer break. I'm scheduled for the 19th. My liquid diet starts Thursday. I've had some last meals, eating some things I know I won't be able to eat again. Not binging, though, not enjoying as much as I'd expect. Is there a June sleevers Forum?
  6. Hello, Acid reflux has been a chronic problem for me for years and I've taken Meds like Prilosec and aciphex to help control it. But I'm not sure if I'll be able to continue that after the surgery. Maybe open up the pill and sprinkle it on applesauce when that is tolerable? This is a question that I also need an answer to. From what I've read, reflux gets worse or better after surgery depending on the person
  7. Thank you, Lady Rouge. I haven't even told my mother. :-/ I'm just private in that way.
  8. Hello! I've been approved for surgery and I'm scheduled for surgery in Houston on June 19th. I haven't told anyone about this surgery. I've kept it private, which I'm sure I'll be happy abut in the long run,but for now that means I don't have a sounding board. I Also need a hernia repaired, which makes for a good cover. I'm ready to get this over with. I know it's what I need to do, but I feel nervous and a little alone. I have 2 kids and I'm divorced. I don't want them to worry about me. Well, thanks for reading this
