  1. Thanks for the question and response. I was wondering the same thing. I kept reading about sipping slowly and I have been, but a couple of times when I was really thirsty I took regular drinks and was fine, so then I thought, what if something is wrong:ohmy:...glad to know I'm okay:biggrin:
  2. The back of my throat feels a little funny also, almost like there is something stuck and I am on liquids only so the only thing I can think of is maybe the breathing tube scraped something and it is healing? I had surgery last Monday and it just started today.
  3. I am glad you are feeling okay. I was banded on Monday, and did my first venture out to the store today (I didn't drive) It seemed to go okay. I am getting better day by day. Did you or anyone notice that there is a little pressure on there chest which sometimes feels like shortness of breath? Anyway good luck, each day does get better!
  4. Hello, I was also banded yesterday at 7:15 am. It went pretty well. The only pain I have is in my stomach...just feels like sore muscles (thank god for the heating pad). So the hardest thing is getting out of the recliner, other than that I feel pretty good so far. I am not hungry, and I am able to fluids normal with no problems. Good Luck to you and all the other January Bandsters:biggrin:
  5. Hey Lori, I too am being banded on Monday the 14th, and I know what you mean by being nervous. Saturday night I woke up at 4:30 and could not go back to sleep. My surgery is at 7am so that is good, I won't have a lot of time to think about it. Good Luck tomorrow, let us know how it goes!
  6. Thanks for your ideas.... I got a bottle of Grape Frost Isopure and will have that today and then post-op I have to do 2 weeks of clear liquids and will drink the Syntax Nectar then.
  7. I am going to banded on Monday at 7am:biggrin: I have a question that I forgot to clarify with my Dr. On Sunday, I am on clear liquids only, now I know that consists of sf jello, broth, sf popcicles etc. but what about protein? I have the syntax nectar protein drink, is that considered a clear liquid? Thanks for your help!
  8. Hey cklapbandster, I met with Dr. Ganta on the 28th of December and I am scheduled for surgery on the 14th! I am starting to get a little nervous but I am excited!:whoo: I am on the pre-op diet of High Protein/Low fat/Low carb....it is not too bad! Anyway good luck with the insurance, my insurance did not cover it, so I will be self-pay, I feel it will be my best investment yet.
  9. Hello fellow January Bandsters:clap2: I am scheduled for surgery on January 14th. I had my consultation on the 28th and have been going non stop trying to get all of the appointments in. I got my surgery time today 7am...that means I have to be there at 5 am! I think now it is finally hitting me and I am excited and nervous at the same time. Good Luck to all of you!
  10. Congrats! Thanks for the update and pictures. I'm having my surgery on the 14th, and really appreciate hearing everybody's experience!
