  1. Hi I am looking for some opinions on the best tasting ready to drink protein shakes. Appreciate any input!
  2. Wow. Ok, thank you I am going to plan on 3.
  3. Hi Losers!!! I am tentatively scheduled for July 6th. I am taking the whole week off from work as vacation and then wondering will I need another week off (gastric bypass). At my company you must use 5 days vacation first before short term disability kicks in. Does bypass usally even count as medically necessary (vs. elective? I'm assuming it should since insurance would be covering it). SO my question is -- how long did you feel you needed off from work? I drive a car for a living (in and out all day on appointments). How did you feel during the post-op period? Will I have enough energy to do things like clean my closets and cabinets and do things around the house that I never seem to be able to get to? Or were you really wiped out and weak? I realize everyone is different but I am going with the thought that my surgery will be a success and complication-free. Thanks for any input and hope you all are feeling fabulous!
  4. Hi everyone-I am so happy to have found this site and have spent hours reading posts! I am tentatively scheduled for gastric bypass on July 6. I have two more weigh ins at my doctors office, A psych eval, a nutrition class to take and a routine gastroscopy on June 3. At this point my main anxiety is due to not knowing if Aetna will approve me--my surgeons office has patients complete everything and they send the file at that point. I could literally find out on July 4 that I haven't been approved ????. I would love to find someone out there who is also scheduled for early July to be a support buddy. I know I'm going to need one and would love to do the same for someone else! Interestingly enough, I did find out yesterday, I will only be on a three day clear liquid diet pre-surgery and thought that was so odd compared to everything I've read here!
  5. @, it may be none of my business, but the "friend" on the phone you mentioned above is no real friend. I'm glad you have found some real support here.
  6. Hey there! I am tentatively scheduled for 7/6/15...but my insurance paperwork won't go in until about 3 weeks before that. I trust that my surgeon's office knows how to handle Aetna, but I'm terrified this is going to get denied. I would love a July buddy!
  7. Is it typical to have to go a gastroscopy during your evaluation phase? I have to have one done and I'm getting very concerned--i'm paying for all of these visits and tests to be done and still have no idea if my insurance is going to approve my surgery!
  8. Thank you. I am tentatively scheduled for early July but my doctors office gathers the entire case file before sending it to the insurance company. So you don't think I should worry about the fact that I'm also going to see a psychiatrist as a new patient in the midst of all this? because surely my insurance company will know about that. The evaluation, by the way, happens right at the surgeons office.
  9. I have my psych evaluation and nutrition class (as required by Aetna) coming up and am feeling so nervous about the psych portion! May I ask what that evaluation entails? Any subjects I should steer clear of? Also, I am about to see a new psychiatrist for a depression problem that my PCP has not been successful in helping me feel better. Any chance that this could just my approval with Aetna? I really appreciate any help or advice.
