  1. I'm 10 days post op! However I'm still feeling pain at my port area. Tugging, pinching, and just soreness! Does this go away? Why so much pain!?????? When having this pain, it makes me regret the decision! Like I should have had the sleeve instead....
  2. Hello all!!! Today is day 2 of 14 for me. I'm having an issue with the 4 Protein drinks that I must have per day! The Protein powder I bought tastes horrible!!!!!! Isopure creamy vanilla Can anyone share a favorite protein? My NUT said it has to be a protein isolate. Thank you!! ????
  3. So, almost 1 month post op and still feel moments of regret. Regretful of the type of surgery I chose for myself. Every few days I get a flare up of swelling and pain in my port area. Hurts and just reminds me that I have an implanted device! It's just frustrating to deal with. I've been on puréed foods for 3 weeks. Only lost 4 pounds. There's more frustration. I keep telling myself that I made the decision to have the band instead of the sleeve because of the long term unknowns.... Because I thought it would be better for me when it was time to get pregnant. I allowed my family to talk me out of the sleeve and get the band. When I said I was having the sleeve, I was getting no support. Once I was influenced by the idea of the band, I began to have a support system. All my life I've done for others. Even the decision I make for myself are for others! So frustrating and depressing. Lying in bed with an ice pack over my belly, tears in my eyes and thankful for this forum to have an outlet.
  4. Wow. Everyone is just so kind. I appreciate your personal stories! I like what you said, with the band I can control it! Had a rough night, I do have a doctor appointment today which I am glad about because I have all these quotation. Sometimes I have great days where I am not hungry, and I forget I even have the band. My husband said I'm not losing weight because I am not walking. It's hard. It's hard to get out of the old habit of being lazy, and unmotivated. I am on depression medication. I've been for a few years so this hits me harder mentally. Friends tell me it's a pity party and I have to just go and do it. I'm still in awe about the concerned responses. Thank you all again. ???? its the small things in life. ???? Crystal
  5. Thanks so much lovebugs. it really helps a lot knowing someone is there. I have to just accept the emotional roller coaster this is going to be. ????

    Newly post op blues

Amen to that! You said it right. Definitely mentally along with physically. I've been an emotional rollercoaster. I just keep here for positive thoughts, and keep in mind that it will get better. Hope all is well with you. ????????????
  7. June 10 was surgery day. During this recovery stage, I've regretted it every day so far. I think it could bet anxiety getting to me. The discomfort and pain I'm in makes me feel like I've been defeated. That I had to go through this extreme to lose weight. When will the pain and discomfort end? When will it get better ????

    Newly post op blues

Are you feeling any better yet? Thank you for asking. I feel really good. However there are days where the port area hurts and seems to swell ( bulge out). I'm not sure why. Really I'm just dealing with it.

    Port Area Pain!

Me too! I'm paranoid that I ripped it from the muscle. No one tells us that there will be this specific pain. At least I know I'm not alone. How have your meals been?

    pain on left side

That's the port area. I'm. 1 week post op and that is where I have the most pain.. Both inside and out by the incision. They are sharp pains if I move the wrong way. I have my dr visit tomorrow so if I find out anything I'll share. Thank god we have this forum! It helps tremendously to have someone on the same journey, at the same time! Feel better!! ????
  11. Good day everyone!!! So here's my little rant. I am on my 10th day of my pre op diet! Which consists of no carbs, low sugar and fat free. Pretty much what I'm eating is 3 shakes a day and chicken or egg whites for dinner. 6-8 cups of veggies per day. I've been strict!! Counting, recording, not cheating (I swear!) and it was a struggle last week but this week it seemed a bit more routine for me and I am getting the hang of it. My surgery is June 10. So I have about 5 days left of the pre op diet. HERES MY ISSUE! ...... Day 1- 258.4 Day 10 251.6 Really? Am I just being stubborn? Am I being greedy about losing the pounds? I've haven't even noticed a difference yet physically. It's just deterring when you work really hard to do the right thing and you still feel like you fail yourself. I can't go on and on about my week. How I've been successful with not binge eating and emotionally eating (especially this week with work being so darn crazy!) so, even after writing this I feel that I'm not giving my self the proper credit and just focusing on weight loss. What about all of you?

    Pre op blues!

Thank you Maggie! I hate that there's no consistency! All different programs have different criteria! And it is a lot. I have a hard time meeting those in a day. Not including all those Protein Drinks. My nutritionist also said I must use only whey protein isolate !! ( the most horrible tasting protein) I couldn't do it. So I had to buy the concentrate. So in the end at least I'm not gaining. Tip: this diet will test the strength in your will power. Never before did I have the will power that I have right now. Make sure you have all the foods you need, stay organized and carry your reusable Water bottle everywhere. best wishes!

    Pre op blues!

Thanks Rizzle. For some reason I was under the impression I was supposed to lose more? A lot more! Oh well! How are you with your band and journey to lose it for good ?
  16. Hi! Just wondering why anyone has chosen the band over the sleeve? I originally was going to do the sleeve but ended up changing it to the band because I am too afraid of it being permanent of a situation, scared to take out half my stomach, and not know 20 years from now the side effects. I'd love to hear your stories! Please share! ☺️
  17. Yea! I saw that at Walmart too!!!! But I was told it must be a protein isolate not blend ???? ....the struggle ????
  18. Wow! Thanks so much for the feedback! Some of the meetings I go to are done in a group setting, and all of them are getting the sleeve. I feel that I haven't found anyone to "connect" with yet. Glad to hear about all your great personal success stories! ???? Even the doctors are so pushy with the sleeve?! I don't get it! No thanks, I'm okay with the gradual weight loss ! ????

    30 days to band

I'm 32 days before! I'm slowly working on my goals. (No straws, reduce caffeine, no eating drinking before after eating). Baby steps!!! We didn't get where we are over night, so we're not going back over night! You can do it! Don't be nervous. Be excited on the days to come ☺️
