My surgery was done at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. It was done by a robot. I was up walking about an hour after I woke up. I had to stay an extra night due to the anesthesia not wearing off in my bladder. Had to be catheterized twice(not a pleasant experience). Two days after coming home I was back in the gym doing light workouts and I think that really helped my recovery. I was told by my surgeon the I needed to lose 30 lbs before surgery. I lost 54 lbs prior to surgery. I continue to go to the gym 5 days a week and have lost an additional 92 lbs since my surgery. I am off all my diabetes meds, all my blood pressure meds and all of my cholesterol meds. The only thing that I continue to take is medicine for gout which Dr. Sanborn said could be a problem for a while until my body adapts to my new diet. I started out at 422 lbs and am down to 274 lbs. My goal is 225.
