1. Just thought I would throw my surgeons name in the ring. He is FANTASTIC and has the most incredible support team including a nutritionist. Best of luck with your decision making!!! Again, his name is Dr Robinson and he operates out of Davis Hospital.
2. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for the instructions on doing the Ticker!!!! You are the BEST!!!
3. What an incredible idea. Combining OA and the LAP BAND!! Thank you whoever came up with this idea!! Two GREAT Programs combined!!!
4. Hey Melinda, Yes I had my surgery on Oct 22. A word of caution for ya, there is a "new" type of band that is out that may take several adjustments. I expected to have the surgery and maybe one adjustment and feel the restriction. I was soo very disappointed that after the 3rd adjustment I still wasn't feeling the restriction. Of course the old monsters took over my brain at that point and said .." See... You'll never be able to lose weight.' Well if this happens to you, be patient because adjustment #4 was the one that worked. My doctor told me that everyone was different and that we would get it right, but we know how those gremlins in our brains work. LOL Anyway, I am now eating very small amounts. Have to chew food very, very well and as my nutritionist insists, PROTEIN FIRST!! LOL You're on your way to an exciting journey, just remeber it is only a tool and you have to work with it. If you have any questions or if there is anything I can help you with I'll be glad to!! Have a great day and I look forward to hearing from you!!! Sheila PS I do know where Hildebran is and you're right, most people would have no clue!! LOL
5. Hi Melinda.. I'm your neighbor in Statesville!!! Congratulations on your approval!! I'm so excited for you!!! Sheila
6. :whoo:
I just got my 3rd fill and soooo happy to say that the 3rd time was a charm. I was getting very discouraged and wondered where would I go from here if such a drastic move didn't work for me. Most people who have this issue in their lives have no idea how very painful it is. Congradulations on all your success. Can I ask a favor? Can you tell me how to get one of those tickers onto my posts. They are pretty cool and I bet will be fun to use!! Congradulations again!!!! Sheila

7. Hey New Me!! ( Love the name), I just went for my 4th fill today and I think this is the one..FINALLY!! Apparently there is a "NEW" band that requires more fills but can be more effective longer. Keep up the great work and I will keep everyone posted on what's going on with me!!
8. Hi Amy, Congrats on your decision to be banded!!! Keep us posted, no punn intended, on your journey!!! Welcome to the NC thread!!!
9. Hi All: I am in Noth Carolina and feel as if I'm failing also. BUT GREAT NEWS!!! I too can eat whatevver I want so I started researching WHY!!! My Dr said everyone was different and the band may need several adjustments. I thought he was just trying to make me feel better. I started doing research. I thought of how painful it would be to take such a drastic measure and have it not work. I found through researching that the band that I had ( Oct 22, 2007) was a newer band and may take as many as 4 or more adjustments. We've all come too far to give up hope. My next adjustment is 1-11-08, will be my 3rd. Just keep doing the best you can and prepare for when we reach that magical day. Besides, maybe God's just preparing us for the great new bodies we are getting ready to have!!! I feel your frustration and pain but hang in there! We'll get there!! Sheila
10. There is a Doctor here in Statesville also. His name is Dr Robinson and he does the surgery at Davis Hospital. Hope that helps someone!!!
11. HI EVERYONE. I AM NEW TO THIS BUT REALLY WOULD LOVE TO BECOME APART OF A SUPPORT GROUP. AM I IN THE RIGHT PLACE. HAD BAND IN ON OCT 20, 2007. :help:
12. HI CRISTY, I HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE WITH DIFFERENT RESULTS. MY DR AFTER THE SECOND ATTEMPT SAID THAT HE DIDN'T WANT ME TO BE A PIN CUSION SO WE WENT TO THE HOSPITAL THE FOLLOWING DAY AND HE USED AN X RAY AMCHINE, LOCATED THE EXACT LOCATION OF THE PORT, MEASURED IT AND MADE NOTES. I ACTUALLY GO FOR MY 2ND FILL ON THURSDAY, 12-18-07 ALSO WILL BE AT THE HOSPITAL. THE DOWNFALL OF THAT $$$ THAT THE INSURANCE DOESN'T COVER. bUT HECK, WE'VE COME THIS FAR!!! GOOD LUCK AND KEEP ME "POSTED" LOL!! SHEILA
13. HI. MY NAME IS SHEILA. I'M VERY NEW TO THIS POSTING AND WONDER IF I'M DOING THIS RIGHT!:help: LOL. ALSO WOULD LIKE SOME HELP IN SETTING UP STATS AS WELL AS A GRAPH. CAN ANYONE HELP ME??
