  1. Hi everyone. I had mine on 4/8/15. Still sore and tired. But am sleeping at night now. Every day brings a little bit more of myself back. Just ate my first 2 oz meal of yogurt plus 1T Protein. Slight headaches now and then also. Otherwise good. Thumbs up!
  2. 62 Year old woman at 39 BMI. It's now or never. Have worked, wished, planned and tried to be thin all my life. I decided to give this to myself now. I wish I had done this when I was 15 years younger, but I thought I could do it the old way. I just continued to gain. So after everything, I finally am giving this to myself. I feel blessed by great friends, family, a wonderful husband and a great church community. I am pretty darn healthy and my therapist and I decided now's the time, I am ready. I would really like to get to know one of you better and share all the ups and downs. About myself: 5' 5"; 233; 62 years old; Married; 2 kids (27 and 23); I'm an Alto in our Unitarian Universalist Choir; I've always been a Democrat; I was a Dead Head; Graduated from UC Davis as a botanist in 1978; I grew up in Southern California; I was born on Halloween in Brazil; I will be at goal weight (=150) this time next year. OMG!!!
  3. One week out and you are not feeling great yet? I am guessing that I will take about two or three weeks before I feel like myself again. I go in tomorrow. This is our time to get good at positive self talk. Use your time well. We are pioneers in this new world.
  4. Hi you. I go in tomorrow and I just want you to know that this post of yours gives me more courage and heart. Thanks. I hope to fee good in three weeks myself. Keep on keeping on!
  5. I go in tomorrow! Have just ordered a bunch of samples from http://www.nashuanutrition.com/store/ so I will try things and report back about how it goes in a couple of weeks. I am so thrilled.
  6. Look forward to discussion on the book. Warning it has a lot of honesty. She really covers a lot of territory.
  7. Freelee, Let's stay in touch. I will be very interested in your reaction to the surgery, your recovery and impressions. I will let you know what I'm going through. Am hoping that I am healthy enough to recover as quickly and strongly as possible. I hope to get through the hard part as quick as possible. Am reading a very good book that I got (as an e book in kindle) called Stranger Here by a Utah author named Jen Larsen. Great read and good writing and all about what we are going through. If you read it, I hope you like it.
  8. Thanks to all who posted to this question. Am very encouraged and motivated. Much appreciation.
  9. I attended a seminar on WLS 12 years ago. It was expensive, I had college aged kids, and no way was my insurance going to cover it. I was just not heavy enough and it was still in its infancy with hardly any success stories yet. So I decided to loose it on my own. Guess what... So am now doing it. Took money out of my 401K and am using this now so that I can have the golden years of my dreams. April 8th, here I come.
