So, went to my primary today, which is part of my requirements (6 months of weigh ins). He put me on a diuretic to help me lose weight last month, but I didn't lose, nor did I gain. So, he prescribed me phentermine to help me lose the weight required to be lost before the surgery. My question is, will BCBS deny my surgery because I've taken prescribed weight loss pills? Thank you in advance!

Surgery is scheduled for the 26th of August. It seems crazy to me that it's scheduled so far out...

Yeah, my doctor went ahead and scheduled out my surgery. I'm going through all of my doctors appointments right now. Today is the nutritionist. Just jumping through all of the hoops...

I'm going with the gastric bypass. The doctor and I both agreed that is what would be best for me.

My name is Maggie, I'm from Florida. I'm currently 350 lbs at 5'7. I've got a bmi of 54.8. I'm set to go for surgery on August 26th, 2015 I'm so new at all of this, so I'm just trying to make it one day at a time. Anyone else out there with the same surgery date or tips???
