  1. Welcome aboard! I wish I only had 200 lbs to lose... LoL! I had my surgery done one month ago today and have lost 45 lbs as of my last weigh in Monday! Thankfully I haven't pushed it and have not had any complications or even thrown up once!! I've even been out to costco and Walmart shopping and getting the stuff I needed, which may not sound like much but considering I hadn't shopped for myself in almost three years I consider that an accomplishment!! Just take it slow and if you have any questions or need encouragement just ask!!
  2. Not sure about your Dr, but mine allowed sugar free popsicles which saved me!. I am so sick of cream of chicken/cheese etc soups! But only have four more days thankfully!
  3. I followed up with my pcp and surgeon and both confirmed your information. With my meds being absorbed primarily in the intestines which are still intact. In my research I found gout flare-ups are not uncommon after bariatric surgery and high Protein levels tend to contribute. Thankfully I haven't had a full flare up just the typical precursors with tingling but nothing immobilizing.
  4. I had the procedure done last week and was curious about how much it affects the effectiveness/absorption rate of my medications. I take five medications for blood pressure, gout, and thyroid and am concerned that because of the Water amount used to wash them down, I may be washing them out of my stomach prematurely. The biggest reason I think there may be an issue is because it seems that I'm starting to have pains that I used to have before a gout flare up. Any info is greatly appreciated.
