    My wife nearly died as well. I feel for you. The doctor used a spring sutre to fsten the ban in place and it caused a hole and leak. She became septic and had the band removed in emergency surgery. She developed phnemonia on ventilator and also a staff infection. She was in icu for 6 weeks and rehab for another 3 weeks. All this and no band, still overweight... We have a lawyer for mal practice.

    MY WIFE NEARLY DIED AFTER HAVING THE SURGERY A SPRING SUTURE HAD POPPED OPEN TEARING THE TISSUE OF HER STOMACH WHICH LEAKED INTO HER ABDOMINAL CAVITY LEADING TO AN INFECTION. SHE WAS SEPTIC, MEANING SHE HAD AN INFECTION IN THE BLOOD. THEY LIFE FLIGHTED HER TO A TRAUMA CENTER TO HAVE THE LAPBAND REMOVED. HAVE OTHERS EXPERIENCED THIS? IS IT COMMON? :help: :ranger:
