???? Calling all March Sleevers....let's support each other!????
I also had my surgery on the 19th! I had excessive nausea & terrible gas pain too, but no vomiting. I'm sorry you had such a terrible time. Hopefully it will all get better from here!

???? Calling all March Sleevers....let's support each other!????
I can relate. I am 3 days out and I can't stand taking a crushed pain pill. I also got sick of the Protein shake flavours during the per op diet. I ordered unjury chicken Soup protein ( you drink warm) and Unjury unflavored that you can mix with milk or anything really. It has been a life saver or at least it has made things more tolerable lol! Best of luck to you!

Thank you Marissa! It's such an unpleasant situation when you just want to recover from surgery & Mother Nature says nope! That's too easy! Lol! I'm sorry you share this experience, but thanks for the reassurance.

I think it is natural to feel nervous, but don't let it overwhelm you! I don't mean to pry or push my views at all but my faith & prayers really got me through the nerves. I went into the OR pretty calm, and I am a worrier lol! You are almost there & best of luck to you! Please give an update when you feel well enough.

Thank you I am feeling a lot better with the gas pain! I am having another problem. The last two nights around 3 am I work up with a splitting headache both nights. My surgeon said it sounds like I'm not getting enough fluids. I am tracking everything today. Also yesterday I walked a few times and felt pretty good but today I am light headed. I feel good today other then being light headed. Sorry for too much info but I started my menstrual cycle the day of surgery ( horrible I know!) and I wonder if that is part of the problem with being light headed? If anybody has insight I appreciate it!?

Post op vitamins
The centrum multi, is that a chalky tablet?

Were you on these from the beginning?

Post op vitamins
No I tried to take it after my lunch on about 1/3 cup of blended cream of mushroom soup. I split it in half because although they are chewable they are very large. It was so awful tasting & I had a metallic after taste for about 30 mins.

You are lucky! I have followed the plan 100% also but most of my issues were before fluids, or stage 1 diet started. My nausea & gas pain was so bad at the hospital that they thought I was having a heart attack & did an EKG & blood work the first night. I walked a lot, I didn't overly use my pain pump because I knew the pain wasn't from my incisions, but the gas. I am doing everything by the book. I followed the two week liver shrinking diet and lost 16lbs. My surgeon said everything went very smooth. I don't know why I had so much pain & discomfort but it definitely wasn't anything I did & I wouldn't wish it on anybody! I know this is all temporary & it will get better but wow those first few days were rough!

Yes I spit it out because it made me feel nauseated immediately. It is Opurity multivitamin.

Post op vitamins
I had my sleeve surgery on Thursday and today I tried to take a bariatric vitamin that I ordered through the hospital and I spit it out immediately for fear of vomiting. It was like putting rat poison in my mouth. Is it normal to have this problem in the beginning or should I buy a different vitamin? Thanks for any help & advice!

I agree, I would rather deliver another baby then deal with these gas pains! 11hours of labor ( my 6yr old) or 3 days of this gas pain? LABOR! Really! I hope it is gone soon, but feeling good otherwise.

I had my surgery Thursday & I was very nauseous for a few days. I was so hot all the time! I couldn't get cooled down. Then I came home & I had terrible cold chills. Last night was my first night home & I was chilled to the bone. I had to check my temp to make sure it wasn't a fever. Now I go back & forth, but I am warm more then cold. I guess my body is trying to stabilize.

My gas was horrible before I had a bite of real food. I tried the gas x strips last night & I throw them right up. Today blended cream of mushroom soup & decaf ice tea have been good today. Just not at the same time lol! Also my heating pad has been a lifesaver!

???? Calling all March Sleevers....let's support each other!????
I had surgery yesterday and I am home now. Everything went well but I did get a lot of nausea & I still have terrible pain and pressure from the gas. I did a lot of walking but the gas won't move down from my chest. Any suggestions? I am still walking.

Two more days until my sleeve surgery! I am excited & kind of freaking out lol! I always over do it, but between packing for the hospital, packing my kids stuff for their Nana's house, getting everything situated to take my four dogs to the Kennel, making sure my house is spotless ( because I am a control freak lol) and just mentally preparing I am getting anxious. I will have plenty of time to do it all I'm sure, but I always try to do more then what is needed. It drives my husband nuts when we are going on a trip, but I don't know how to turn it off! Lol! Being over prepared is what me feel in control & at ease.- What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
@@Califlower83 I can relate to so many things you said & I respect you for having the courage to say them! I think a lot of us hold ourselves back from living the life we want to live for one reason or another. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, or fear of being noticed even. It sounds like you are on your way and until you talk to a surgeon I wouldn't worry about what your PCP says. You can't go back so don't beat yourself up for what you wish you had done sooner, just keep looking forward! I think you are going to have a lot of fun & excitement after you have your surgery and start a new life in your healthy and more confident body!- March Sleevers
As far as the Swanson broth I tried the Tuscan & the Louisiana ones. The Tuscan had too strong of an after taste for me & the Louisiana one was so spicy! They were not for me! I like the beef stock the best.- March Sleevers
The first three days are the worst, but I promise it gets better! I was hungry & grumpy. I had to leave the room a few times when my husband & kids were eating, but your hunger gets less and less especially if you are drinking enough fluids. My liver shrinking diet was ordered for two weeks and I have just a few days left! My surgery is Thursday. Good luck & you can do it!- What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
I had been working with a personal trainer for 18 months, dieting, loosing weight and feeling good......then my sciatic never went nuts & all of the sudden I had terrible back & hip pain. I did physical therapy & it got a little better. I have bursitis in my hip too as it turned out. A full year went by of me being in chronic pain & the littlest thing would make it worse. I gained back all the weight I lost & I was getting depressed because I felt like I couldn't do anything with my family that use to do. So I went to my doctor & he said I should consider WLS and he also referred me to a specialist to get shots in my back. Well I couldn't get treatment for my back because of my weight & that doctor told me I should consider WLS too. I realized I was stuck & I was sick of being in pain.- Ladies come in re: period during surgery
I'm so glad someone asked this embarrassing question! My surgery is on Thursday & of course I am spotting! I have PCOS and my cycles are totally unpredictable. I wasn't sure what happens during surgery in this case. Thanks for starting this feed. - March Sleevers
