I learned about BariatricPal from my dietician at Healthy 4 Life. She gave us a list of sites and this was one of them. I was looking for different ways to gain more knowledge, resources and support as I go through my weight loss journey.

Currently on 1/22/2015 I am pre-surgery for the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. I will be learning my surgery date tomorrow from the surgeon, Dr. Dang.

My ultimate goal is to really become healthier than I currently am. I have always been overweight. I was a chubby child and now I am an obese woman. I want to live as long as I can in as healthy of a way as possible. I decided to go for weight loss surgery because I have tried other methods and the weight just keeps coming back. My biggest fear is to die at a young age the way that my dad did. I refuse to go out like that when I can do something to change it. So why not now before it is too late?

My personality is that of a laid back person who can be snarky. I enjoy people so long as they are not lying or playing games. I am a bit quiet and reserved when meeting people and sometimes it takes me a while to open up but I will always say hi to a smiling face!
