I think if I could go back I would have had it done in my early 30's but only if I had been as mentally ready as I was now.

It sounds like they are envious of your success and miserable so they are trying to give you backhand compliments just to push your buttons. Stay away from them as much as you can unless it is for work related things. Negative people like that are just seeking to down other people to try and make themselves feel better.
