  1. Thank you for your words of encouragement. You are right I will be able to enjoy many foods again just in smaller amounts. Keep us posted on how you are doing and all the best.
  2. One month from the start date of my 2 weeks of Opti-Fast shakes. Is it normal for me to want to enjoy my favourite foods for maybe the last time? I read about people being so motivated they are eating better and losing weight. I don't seem to have that drive. I have cut out caffeine and am limiting my pop (which I will be fine without) anyway. I guess I am just worried that I am not that committed although where I live it has been a year long process to get to the poiint of surgery being scheduled. I need to start using my c-pap more and perhaps walking a bit more (although I have developed a knee issue over the past few weeks). Wondering if I am really ready for this. I do not want to fail. I did lose 10 lbs early on in the process but it seems to have crept back on. Christmas, 3 vacations, and food funerals I think might have been some of the reasons but in reality I should be learning how to control my food now I would think. Any thoughts???
  3. I am 50 and having surgery June 22. Been overweight all my life. Worried I will have complications from surgery. IE blood clot, stroke. Worried about not recovering easily, making stupid mistakes with my diet and gaining weight back again. As you can probably tell I am a worrier.
  4. Hi. I am 49 years of age, have diabetes (newly diagnosed) sleep apnea, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. It is now being determined if I had a silent heart attack and if yes how much damage was done etc. I am supposed to have the r n y in April. Have my surgery class in Feb. and am all over the map. Some people say sleeve is better option. Some people like Guelph. Some like Toronto. I am so confused and nervous I will stroke out on table or have more problems as a result of surgery. I basically feel like I am damned if I do and dead if I don't. The more I think about it the more worried I become. Is this normal? Am I not ready?
