  1. Hi, everyone! This is my first post. I had a sleeve gastrectomy in September. While the surgery has been successful so far, I have been struggling with mood swings and depression. I have bipolar disorder, which informed my decision to have the sleeve instead of bypass. However, its effect on my mental health is dramatic. My psychiatrist is working with me in adjusting my medications, but my surgeon is completely clueless. Has anyone read any research on mood disorders and bariatric surgery? I don't regret it for a second, but it is still frustrating and discouraging. Thank you in advance. ~ Jamie
