Thanks for the responses. I told my boss I would need around 3 weeks off. I might come back sooner and see how I do for half a day and just see how I feel. We get extremely busy some days and I drive for 10 hours. Some days I don't even have time to stop to eat or use the restroom. My work is being really nice about everything

I got my surgery date today...August 12th. I am so excited. I have to have filters placed a few days before due to getting blood clots after my last surgery. How long did everyone wait till they went back to work? I am a taxi cab driver and on most days rarely get out of my car to walk so I'm nervous about going back to soon.

Thanks for the responses. Postop thanks for the info. I am looking into the vitamins now. I am trying to be prepared as much as I can. I am getting very excited and talking my families ear off about this surgery. I can't wait to start my new healthy life

What vitamins do you Ds'ers take daily. I was going over my packet from my surgeons office and they have me set up for the DS but gave info on the gastric bypass. I will be calling next week to ask for the right packet to be sent since I live over an hour away. I was just trying to plan ahead and buy in bulk with my tax return.

Thanks for the response. A few people I have talked to said theirs also took around 3 to 4 months. I am getting excited and will be calling this week to see if they sent the referral to the psychologist. I have an appointment tomorrow with a new primary care doctor I am hoping to get her to sign off for medical clearance

Yes I have to pay for the nutritionist and waiting for the psychologist to call to set up an appointment. Then once those are done and I get the insurance approval I have to attend the 4 hour class at memorial. How long did it take you from your first consult to have the surgery?

No not yet I just had my first consult this month. I am getting all my requirements together. I only have to do a few things so hoping to have them done by the end of march.

Hi today was my consult with the surgeon. He has suggested the DS. I am happy with his choice. I am new to this app and just wanted to share with everyone. I am excited to finally be going through with the surgery. I have debated on and off for 10 years but today feel more then ready to change my life.
