Going Home Today
I've loved being here, but I have to go back home and become responsible for myself so I'm getting ready to be discharged. I'm so sleepy with all the pain meds. But I'm so happy I've done this. Can't wait for results

Hours away....
I am only hours away my surgery date. I'm a bit hungry because I'm so nervous that I've been avoiding food since breakfast. I had toast with jam and peanut butter and apple juice for breakfast it was a late breakfast so I was okay with not eating lunch. Around 5 p.m. I was literally holding my stomach from hunger pain. so I had a yogurt I felt ok after that but I decided that it was almost dinner time so I filled 2 bottles with a little Apple juice with lots of ice cubes and water. And I've been sipping on that. I'm hungry but this is the most self control I've ever experienced. I'm just thankful our kitchen is downstairs. I'm just hours away from my dream come true. I'll probably be going to bed soon cuz I feel like crying my family is eating dinner. They're eating well too. And I can't have they. So I'm about to turn in... pray for me lol.

Oh I think I'm gonna be sick...
The nerves are killing me!!! I'm the type of person who gets sick to my stomach when I'm nervous, at this point my breathing is shallow, I'm having minor panic attacks every time I'm reminded of it. I'm ready to do this. This is a dream comin true. In my life I've always felt like "man I never win anything. Nothing ever goes my way". Well this is me winning. And this is things going God's way...I am truly blessed and thankful.

Two week liquid diet?
Ok. So far I've been reading about ppl going on a two week liquid diet prior to their surgery date as a requirement. Now is this for everybody? Or is this just for this who have some trouble with their liver? I live in Indiana and I go to st. Vincent bariatric center in Carmel. I've never heard of that. Never gOt those instructions. Never even heard of it even at my support groups. Now my surgery is on Tuesday January 13. Only two days away. And I have a specific diet to follow on Monday. I had to lose at least 30lbs in order to be considered for surgery which I've done. So hearing about these two week liquid diets has me freaked out. I feel a bit clueless cause they never told me. Anybody not have to do that ?

K so I ate my sushi today....
They didn't tell me to go on a two week liquid diet. When I went and had my labs done they said everything was normal so I'm thankful that! I'm just hoping I'm for the best next week

K so I ate my sushi today....
Wow. So after weeks of crrraaaaviiing sushi... 3 days before surgery...I had some. And it was good. And I felt satisfied. Satisfied...with a side of guilt. Monday (day before surgery) I have to eat according to the list of things I was given at hospital which will eventually end in clear liquid dinner. Any tips?

Ppl having bariatric surgery in their twenties!
Hello ppl. I'm 22. Soon to be 23. And I'll be having Roux En Y surgery next Tuesday on January 13, 2015. When I first was represented with the opportunity to have bariatric surgery, I was opposed to it. I felt like "oh plz I'm young, I have time. I'll be ok. I have room for mistakes." So then I gained and gained and gained. Didn't even bother checking on my health because i was embarassed because i didn't want my doctor to keep shaking get head at my Bill of health. By the time I joined the weight loss program at St. Vincent Hospital back in April of 2014, I was almost 600lbs. And in denial. But after talking to the team I'd see weekly, I started taking things more seriously. I was blessed with opportunity to have surgery and i took it and ran with it honey. I feel safe there. And it's a judgment free zone. So I want to know how my fellow twenty something year old pre-op and post-op bariatric patient felt initially before making such a HUGE decision.
