I was born overweight! I had tried almost every diet out there over my 66 years.
Have wanted gastric bypass for a long time but until I became eligible for Medicare no insurance coverage avail. to afford it.
I belong to an HMO, Group Health, in WA state. They have an amazing bariatric program. Once pre-approved for their program last May 2014, I feel like I have been attending gastric bypass school ever since. They have a very comprehensive and thorough program to educate a patient completely and take you slowly through the steps necessary to learn and understand what you will be going through. I dropped 25 lbs pre-op, and had surgery Dec 8, 2014. I am feeling so much better already.
Looking forward to a future where I can really "play" with my g'kids, not just watch them play. So excited to continue my weight loss journey. As of 2 mos. post op, I'm down another 41 lbs and counting. Had 1 long stall, Dec 24 to Jan 30, don't get discouraged if that happens. Stay with your program, your body takes years to get large, give it time to adjust to becoming smaller.
