  1. Hi everyone! I have lost 58 lbs and absolutely love my band. Haven't had any trouble. I have 11 ccs in a 14cc band. I can't believe it has almost been a year, my fills will start costing next month too. Let us know how you are doing!
  2. yep, still out there?
  3. Hi all, I miss this site. congrats to everyone! I really miss my diet dr. pepper--has anyone tried drinking anything carbonated? I have lost 41 lbs. and it has been pretty easy. Of course I wish it were more, but I haven't exercised at all. I can see from the posts that I really need to! Take care and hopefully all is well!
  4. Hi everyone, How much has everyone lost? I have only lost 28 lbs, but my last fill seems to be perfect. I am up to 9ccs and can really tell a difference when I eat. I hope everyone is doing well--but miss everyone's posts.
  5. how is everyone. I received another fill on Jan 30 and now am up to 7 1/2 cc's. I can finally tell a difference and fill full real quick. How is everyone else doing?
  6. hey ovahkummer--you need a fill, you should not feel like this! call your doc
  7. Hey firebolt, You sound exactly like me, I had to reread my post, cause I thought your post was mine--that is exactly how I talk--even the Jeez Louise!! I thought this was going to be easy--but hopefully our adjustments will work!
  8. Hey Marilync My doc said the same thing about carbs (below 30) and to eat 3 oz of Protein first. But I feel like if I could have followed a diet like that prior to the surgery I wouldn't have needed the surgery--duh. I want it to be easier, but I guess we need to follow the rules to lose weight. So I am trying to follow the all protein to see if that helps and I called in early for another fill, I still do not feel restricted--ugh
  9. HI and thank everyone for sharing. I went to my first support group meeting, and it was very informative. I think this board is awesome, cause we are all in the same time zone as to surgery! I definitely do not feel as hungry after my 2nd fill, but still don't feel "restricted." I am going to give myself one more week before I call doc for another fill. I am eating oatmeal for Breakfast, then salad for lunch with chicken or chili and then a big supper. So hopefully, after another fill I will feel restricted and start losing weight faster--ugh!!! Keep up the good work all and let us know how you are doing!!!!!
  10. Hi all, I had my fill on the 7th--he put in 2 more cc's ( I think I have 4 now) and I am not as hungry as before, but can eat more than 4 ounces. My stomach sometimes aches--especially if I drink a glass of iced tea. But I am still not losing weight. I feel frustrated cause I thought I was taking the easy way out and it isn't so easy :-)
  11. Hi all, Seems like a lot ofyou have had fills so far. I am having another fill today. I still do not feel restricted and have actually gained a pound. How should I feel if the "fill" is tight enough. Right now I can eat anything I want.
  12. HI all, I was sooooo nervous about the first fill, but it didn't hurt at all. The doc did it with an xray and I was able to see everything and watch the liquid go into my stomach. COOL! I think he was a little cautious with Christmas next week, because he only put 1cc in it, supposedly there were 3 ccs in it already. So that gives me 4, but he cautioned me about comparing with other bandsters. I was on liquids the first day and then yesterday moved to chicken noodle soup. Might try something else later today. This process is frustrating, but also I am so excited! I just wish the scale would move faster. Perhaps I should quit drinking my wine!! No liquid calories--but there are so many parties this time of the year. Take care all and let us know how you are doing!
  13. Hi all, I haven't had any restricted feelings and have been eating pretty much everything--except bread and rice. I have stayed away from those. Of course I haven't lost any more weight, it is soooo hard with all the holiday treats around. Today is my first fill--I am a little nervous, but excited that the process will finally start. My doc asked if I wanted to wait until after Christmas and I said heck no--I spent a lot of money on this and know that I would eat my way thru the holidays, so I need the restriction!! I will email later and let you know how it goes. Has anyone else had a fill yet? Can't remember if anyone described it yet. How is everyone doing?
  14. HI all, I am eating--yipppeee. I have had chicken, eggs, refried Beans (with cheese) and even a reese's Peanut Butter tree (tiny one). I haven't lost any morr weight--total 16lbs since before surgery. I haven't been drinking my water--but will try to concentrate on that from today on. I actually went on a walk with son and dh--my friend told me that would help the port incision pain and told me I would heal much quicker. I didn't think I would make it, but I did and I felt great after. I finally took the steristrips (spelling?) off my belly and the skin around the incisions is aggravated, so my tummy looks like a warzone. My doc put my port right above my belly button (don't know why, no bikinis for me) and when I where jeans it still hurts. I have an appt. sceduled for check up on the 12th, and then supposed to have a fill the next week. My port site feels numb, I wonder if the fill will hurt? Marilyn: My daughter is about 5'3" and only weighs 87 pounds--I too stressed healthy eating and exercise and she looks great! She didn't understand why I couldn't diet and lose the weight. She is only 12 and I told her it wasn't that easy when you grew up being overweight -- I pray she will never have our issues. Have a great weekend!
  15. Hi all, This is a great discussion board! I am feeling much better--I can see 100% in my future--FINALLY. My port site is still hard but not as sore as it was on Wed. I have been eating milkshakes--probably not the best thing, but I love the eggnog ones :-). I have a yogurt for Breakfast, milkshake for lunch and mashed potatoes or refried Beans for dinner. I still haven't felt like I am going to throw anything up--I am so afraid of that feeling and my doc told me if I eat too much or too fast it will happen.--Have you guys had that feeling? I can't believe you all are walking for 50 minutes--that would kill my back!! I have lost 16 lbs since pre op diet--yippppeeee
  16. My port site is very sore. It feels like my stomach is on fire. or that the port has shifted. sometimes when I get into a certain position it feels better, but it burns. Anyone else feeling this?
  17. Hey bandpal, I too can appreciate the "feelings" section. Thanks for sharing--you must be a writer--what do you do for a living?
  18. Is anyone still on pain meds. I think the tylenol with codeine might be upsetting my stomach, I am going to try to stop taking it.
  19. How much are you guys eating? I can't seem to drink more than one atkins canned shake, about 4 ounces of Isopure and about 4 ounces of broth. I sip on a little water but that is it. I am having gas still, and no position is perfectly comfortable. I am still having headaches too. Please let me know how much you guys can tolerate food wise.
  20. HI all, I too took a nap this morning and it felt great. Still taking the tylenol with codeine--my port area hurts still. I had some tomato Soup and did it taste good!!!! Something warm to eat was nice. I am afraid to walk around the neighborhood--what if I get halfway and can't make it back?? I guess if I did my gas would go away. Oh well, my family brought me home some mashed potatoes from grandma's thanksgiving dinner yesterday--and I am dying to try them, but I am afraid of vomiting. Have any of you felt that way yet--I haven't but scared to death I might. My incisions are itching too, but ice packs seem to help. I have also had a little headache--probably cause I can't seem to get all my waters in. Thanks for all your updates--it really helps!
  21. It feels like the glands on both sides of my neck feel swollen. I was banded on teh 20th--has anyone felt like this before?
  22. Well today is day 3 and I made it. Today my stomach feels like it is on fire. I am still taking my tylenol with codeine, and I get to take a shower today. So I am hoping I will feel better this afternoon. Hope everyone else is doing good!! :-)
  23. I am being banded in the morning (20th). I have to be there at 5:15 and surgery at 7:30. I am sooooooooo nervous, scared and worried about soreness. I have to be back at work next Tuesday. I wonder if I am doing the right thing. But I am so mad at myself for getting so fat. UGH--wish me luck!
