  1. QUESTIONS! Help please! Just looking for some answers it insight please! 1. coffee? Do many people continue to drink coffee post-op? If so, do you still use creamer, or just milk? 2. Smoothies/juicing? How early were you able to make a smoothie with frozen fruit? Or have juice using a juicer? I used to have these after my morning workouts and really enjoyed them. I would get them with veggies and a couple fruits. 3. Drinking out of straws? Does most people drink out of straws with no problem? Or is it really best to avoid them? 4. Caffeine? Stay away forever? I don't know if I can do that...at least some tea every now and then.
  2. Just got Gastric Sleeve Surgery on the 12/15/14 and about 4 days post-op I began to notice my thighs were numb. I could scratch my leg and not feel the actual scratching feeling on my leg, only felt pressure that something was touching it. Then during my night of sleep I had a shooting pain in my leg, cramping and it was very sharp, painful. I would have about 2 of these episodes during sleep, then I would wake up and walk for a while and massage my theighs to relieve pain. The shooting pains during night have seemed to stop, but my legs still have a slight tingle/numb feeling. Wondering if anyone has had any issues like this either! Any comments/recommendations are welcome
  3. I am exactly 1 week post-sleeve and I have been showering since post-op day 3. I do have a obsession and a love for baths. Wondering if I can take one? I go into my doctor tomorrow to get my strips removed off my incisions. Anyone know if it's a OK to take a bath? Or hold off? Thanks!!
  4. I'm feeling as if I am 3 months post op. When I am actually only 8 days...I'm a little sore at times, but able to get around good, although I do get a little tired. Went into my 1st post-op appt with my doctor and he cannot believe how great I am looking and doing! I am only 19, so maybe my age has something to do with a speedy recovery...but it worries me a little. I have no problem getting liquids down at all, I read on here people who are not interested in food...I am, I enjoy my Soup and feel as if I'm almost doing "too good" I hate to say that, as I see people struggling...but my paranoid side, I almost think something went wrong!!! Why am I feeling so good, when I just had major surgery and I have read all over that I would likely be down for weeks. Not really sure what to think. I have also noticed how much more emotional I am after the surgery. I cry at things much easier and seem to get irritated easily...not sure if that's due to the survey and if anyone else has experienced that, or am I just being a teenager? Lol. For everyone struggling...keep going! We all have the same goal in mind and we can all get there! Keep up the good work and keep pushing!!!

  7. From the day of my first appt with my surgeon to the day of my actual surgery which was last week-12/15/14 took about 4 months! I had to get a psychiatric evaluation, a upper GI scan, and appointment with a nutritionist. During these 3 months of getting these things done, I was going in every month to check back in with my surgeon and continued to lose weight and stay on track. The reason I say 4 months of my total journey is because I got my date the last wee of November and had to wait 3-weeks before my big day! You may have a more speedy journey like mine, or you may have a longer one like my family friend did-hers took about a year and had to switch insurances half way through. She got her surgery on 12/3/14, and is so happy she did. Then end result will be 100% worth it and when your down and about to give up, remember why you are doing it! Keep pushing!! Good luck today!
