  1. Update I'm doing much better. The whole stent thing was an ordeal, but it fixed my stricture. It was the worse month of my life but it worked! its been 3 months since the stent was removed and besides a big ulcer that the stent caused and that my doctor has been treating with Nexium and Carafate, im doing fine. I have lost 92% of my excess weight (a 120 pounds) and I'm eating solid at last...... just have to be careful and need to be monitored because strictures can come back and bite in the you know where.....Fingers crossed!

  3. Thanks, I know this is the way to fix my complication, but is so hard.... I cant sleep, I cant drive, I cant go to work, I basically sitting on a chair in a haze of pain, nausea and pain killers.... I was just trying to hear how people cope with the nausea and the pain....maybe some natural remedies or treatments..... Anything....
  4. Anybody else that would like to share their experience with a stent or strictures? I have had mine in for two weeks and it has been the worse experience of my life. The pain, the nausea, the constipation, the constant feeling of pressure is simply unbearable.....I dont know how im going to make for two more weeks.....im scared and in terrible pain.
  5. Honestly, no. Ask me in a couple of years and my answer may be different. At this moment I absolutely regret my surgery. I hate what I did to my body and its was a mistake. The pain and the suffering is really bad....
  6. Thanks.... Im holding on but is hard....the nausea and the pain is really bad...I just hope this works and all this sacrifice is not in vain.... I just hope I can hold it until January 12, when the stent is scheduled to be removed.
  7. They found a stricture, It has been treated twice with endoscopic dilation and the third time with dilation plus the put a stent inside the sleeve to see if they can fix the stricture.... It has been very painful and the nausea is horrendous.....
  8. Anybody? apparently stricture are very uncommon......trying to find some support and hear some experiences....
  9. I had complications and Im in a lot of pain and a bit scared....everybody says its going to get better but after 3 months of pain, I can only hope....
  10. So sorry to hear that mowgli19.....your stents were to fix a leak or a stricture? and how are you doing now? I truly hope that much better! I had my metal stent put on last Monday...and it has been has as bad as expected, the nausea and the pain are simply horrible....I cant drive and of course I cant work either..... The Zentram for the nausea help and the same with the oxycontin for the pain.....I just hope I don't get addicted, because Im taking one every four hours or the pain is too much to handle.... This is going to be a very long 4 weeks.....
  11. Thanks and I agree. i just hope that strictures, which what I actually have are easier to fix than a leak.....I can only hope! Thanks
  12. Anybody else here that would like to share their experiences with a stent....mine is going to be put on on Monday and Im very scared....
  13. Thank you for sharing your experience. i agree and that is what Im going to do. As much as I dislike the idea of another surgery, this is the last time Im going to try to save my sleeve. if this doesn't work I will do the conversion to gastric bypass. I'm sorry you had to go through all that and I hope you are healthy and doing fine know..... Wish me luck....
  14. My surgeon is a very well known and highly experienced. But I we asked for a second opinion with another surgeon and he suggested exactly the same. So I guess Im going to do it. Anybody else would like to share their experiences with a stent after bariatric surgery? Particularly regarding strictures? Thanks
  15. Hello I was sleeved on September 9th...and I have already been endoscopic dilated twice due to a stricture close to my pyloric valve.....Im still having a hard time eating and drinking so my surgeon wants to put a stent on to try to fix the stricture.... Im terrified....but I don't know what to do, to try to ride it out and see if the stricture dilates with time, which is possible or get the stent put on..... Any comments of anybody who has had a stent after the gastric sleeve are very welcome! Thanks!
