  1. I have finally joined the world of the banded! Yesterday morning was my surgery and my doc said I was one of the easiest band he's ever done. I was/am sore, but I have the gas pain in my chest. It's starting to go away, though. My port site is the sorest, which was expected. I still feel a little out of it and week. I keep making typos as I write this. Even though I knew that the band would not be filled, I was expecting to not feel hunger because of the swelling of the stomach. I don't really feel any different hunger-wise as before. I am already ready for a fill in 6 weeks. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
  2. I am a 28 year old Registered Nurse working in Women's and Infant's Services at our hospital. I am married with 2 boys (10 and 19 months). When I went to my preop they said that half of their patients were either nurses or teachers! Anyway, I have been consious of my weight for that last 10 years after having my son. I remember in high school weighing 130 lbs and thinking I was fat. Boy do I wish I could go back there! I have about 80 or so lbs to loose, and I can't do it on my own. I can loose it, but it all comes back with more attached! So my date is Dec. 6. (Next Thursday!) Good Luck Everyone!
  3. HEY! I am an RN and work in Women's and Infant's services in Conway, AR. I am scheduled for Dec. 6. I think these next 2 weeks and 4 days are going to drag by! Has anyone found that overweight people are more supportive of the band than the "skinny b*#@%'s"? I feel like those who have struggled with their weight understand more than those who have never had a weight problem and think you can just "stop eating."
  4. When I worked in outpatient surgery we would me them take them out. People could put retainers in other piercings, but with the tongue I would be concerned with the ET tube.
