  1. I wasn't sure I would be able to make it to this point, but, with amazing support from my wife, I am finally through the 6 weeks of hell My typical diet consists of the following now ... 1/2 cup of cottage cheese in the morning small amount of Beans with some avocado for lunch Protein shake after lunch (either EAS 42 grams or protein OR muscle maxx 45 grams of protein) salmon or another Protein Shake for dinner with a small amount of mashed potatoes For the past 2 weeks, I have been increasing the amount of gym time to where I do cardio 6 days a week and lift weights 3 days a week ... mainly legs, arms and chest (no core exercises as those are banned till 3 months post surgery per my doctor) ... what do you guys recommend eating now? what vegetables are safe bets? I planned on adding very well chewed chicken, but, scared beyond that. My stomach is still very finicky ... It appears that I have developed some lactose intolerance (weird that I can do cottage cheese), but, if I don't take a lactaid before a protein shake I get diarrhea ... milk is a no go as is yogurt ... greek yogurt makes me terribly sick for 8 hours ... I know I need to probably start to add new things to my diet, but, I am more scared of the side effects vs. staying with the same foods
  2. I tried it once ... the thing I found initially was the large dose of Fiber was not too much fun to my system ... caused some serious cramping and diarrhea .... turns out later that some of that was due to newly developed lactose intolerance. So, if it were me, I would start slow or just consider waiting on that deal
  3. I am 5 weeks post-op now ... the issue I struggle with is when I take my Protein supplement (shakes), I usually get explosive diarrhea about 1-3 hours later ... I have tried different versions, removed milk, tried soy milk, almond milk etc ... not too much fun ... has anyone else experienced this? does it pass? do I still get the protein absorption if I have the diarrhea later? Thanks.
  4. it sounds like you are doing an awesome job ... just keep pushing
  5. Thanks for the awesome replies .. I think the hardest part for me is the change in tastes ... I used to enjoy Isopure drinks (apple melon was really good and frost orange okay), but, now I start dry heaving thinking of the apple melon flavor and can force the orange frost down
  6. Hi everyone - I could really use some support .. I had my surgery the Monday before thanksgiving ... things have gone pretty well except of late I have really struggled to get the Protein I am supposed to consume ... plus liquids are challenging ... I used to love drinking ice Water but water tastes horrible to me ... Protein shakes also make me nauseous now ... I can sort of handle low fat cottage cheese and various Soups, crystal light lemonade, but, beyond that, I am getting really bummed. Is it normal to get nauseous 2-3 weeks out and have a hard time getting liquids and protein? I also find it really hard to get my Vitamins down without a lot of nausea
