I Want To Be A Hot Fudge Sundae
Wow this hit the nail right on the head. I do believe that a lot of overweight people are emotional eaters and that unless we tackle the reason we eat and replace that coping mechanism with something some healthy then we are more or less doomed. I was in counseling for 2 years before being banded and then for 1 year after but money issues stopped that. I am a 58 year old daughter of a Narcissistic mother and have lots of issues emotional eating being one of them. If I understood the correlation between emotional problems and the success of WLS I may have made sure that the money was available for my continued therapy. I am struggling now to get back on track after putting about 22 pounds back on. I hope this group will help me get my act together.

Share ideas, What did you eat today ?
Use Crystal Light Sunrise Orange in a cup of 1% milk 1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder (I use EAS WHEY) and lots of ice in the bullet. OMG it is sooooo good. For an extra treat put just a little squirt of Redi-Whip on top. I think this would be less calories then using the orange juice. Try it and let me know what you think please

Do we have to formally enter this contest? If so how? Sure would be nice to win this to use at the gym since I really can't afford one right now.

Bladder retention
Has anyone, men in particular, suffered with bladder retention since lap band surgery? I am at goal (180 pounds from 305) and surgery was 5/19/07 but this past March I went to the Uroligist because going to the bathroom was really becoming a big problem. The doctors say my bladder is streched and the result is that I have to self catherize to empty my bladder 3 to 4 times a day. This problem of a slow and dwindiling urine stream started a month or so after the lap-band surgery and now has resulted in my not being able to go on my own at all. Part of me believes that the band has something to do with my problem but the doctors say no but yet they can't really tell me why I am haveing this problem.

Question I've Not Seen Answered Anywhere
I don't know if they still make these but when my oldest child (he is 31 now) was a baby they had these sectioned plates that were plastic and hollow and you put hot water in them to keep the baby food warm. I have sort of looked for them but have not found them yet. It might help to at least not let the food get ice cold as it takes me at least 30 minutes to eat a half a cup of food.

low carbing it? come join me
Hi everyone. Low carb also works for me. To get the Net Carbs you subtract the fiber and the sugar alcohols. Always read the labels on everything that you put in your mouth. I have lost 47 pounds since Oct. 26 2007 but I want to lose faster. I think the low carb will help that out. I also need to have a set time to eat my three meals. I usually have a protein drink in the AM because food doesn't sit well before 10 AM. After that it has been hit or miss as to eating so I need to get on a schedule. I would like to keep looking in until I am able to share a breakfast lunch and dinner menu with all of you. This is a cool thread. Thanks :wink2:
