    I was required to do the 6 month supervised diet, which I took not too seriously because if I lost more than 10 lbs, the insurance company wouldn't approve. So I lost 7 pounds, then gained 9. At first I was denied coverage, but my surgeon went to bat for me and after many months I was finally approved. So the six months turned into eleven, but I am now on the other side, two weeks post-op. I just don't think most people's timeline usually works out like they had hoped.
